Cuyahoga is only showing 2 indicators and yet it's still red. I'm seriously getting MOTI

I'm pretty sure DeWine's original script included keeping the lock downs until there's a vaccine to justify fucking with the elections and he's going to follow that no matter what. Remember, he didn't lock the state down until the courts told him he couldn't stop in-person voting at the Republican primary. It was immediately after that the first shut down went into effect and he forced mail in voting anyways. Because "health emergency."

A thread of pearl clutchers, mainstream media vultures, and just general human stupidity. Also: not surprising that someone with the following in their Twitter profile would seek out propaganda brownie points.

I predict GA will come out of this just fine, no matter how much they try to demonize them with fearmongery.
I like how everyone's mad about COVID and masks and social distancing and blah blah blah but almost no one brought up how ridiculously overcrowded schools are which is the real fucking issue with this situation.

New Jersey had the highest deaths-per-million in the entire world. No shit the curve fucking flattened, everyone who was at-risk already died. It's called "flattening the curve" because--hopefully to no one's surprise--you're trying to flatten a fucking curve. New York and New Jersey took the "fuck it" approach and didn't do a goddamned thing at the start of this and their leaders were literally holding parades during it, so they're the red spike. Most of the other states pumped the brakes to flatten the curve and that's why they're still riding it out.

Holy shit this concept isn't rocket surgery.

Where I am at most of the deaths where in the nursing homes and the migrant worker camps. They keep pushing that, OH FUCK WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE rhetoric down our throats. Meanwhile, the largest statistically effected population which was in the nursing homes, ended up all getting genocided at that peak time in April-May. Maybe outside of the odd death every couple of weeks of some random boomer, most people typically survived. Though I live in one of the COVID hotspots in the country, so we've seen very much the worst of it compared to the rest of the country. The migrant worker situation is bizarre though, people are really not happy with the agricultural industry right now here.

Even as a resident who has lived here for the past 15 years, I never was aware of how big of an influx of migrant workers we had working on the farms here. Insane that that constitutes the majority of our COVID cases over the last month, meanwhile at the beginning of the pandemic it was the nursing homes that where the majority of the COVID cases. The health unit is also seemingly purposefully hiding or fudging information from the general public, people are starting to get very divided on all of this. Doesn't help that our shit head premier has pissed on our heads through out this entire process, some of us would like to resume with our lives to a reasonable capacity. I don't think that they can admit that it wasn't the killer plague we all believed it was going to be back in February. The tone on this board has changed a lot since then, because it seems like we where the only ones that actually where on top of this thing for this long. Outside of the random /pol spergs or Chinacom bots, seems like we are universally united on how much of a tremendous cluster fuck this has been.

Oh.

Shit.

I just realized they never intended to let us open back up.

Flattening the curve has an unstated aspect to it -- the changes you make to "flatten" the curve must NEVER be undone or the curve will stop being flattened. The second you stop the lockdown, the curve unflattens.

The idiots in charge literally don't have an exit strategy for this. They're hoping for a vaccine potion to be science-alchemied up, the virus to just magically go away one day, or to push the end of this to some mythical "later" time so that they'll never have to make any hard choices other than "just STAY LOCKED DOWN what is WRONG WITH YOU don't you LUV DA magic SCIENCE rituals too?!!"

The only way this ends is if someone flat out stops them so they can have the responsibility taken away from them. Until then they'll literally try and force the entire world to stop rather than risk them being forced to take any responsibility for a decision.

We've elected an entire caste of non-leaders to leadership roles.

That's what you get when everyone and their retard brother has to take "leadership" classes in school and write college application essays about how they were a "leader" in their community and other absolute bullcrap like that.

This is one of the dumbest fucking things I have ever heard of. Read the story and you'll wonder why the commander of the Military Sealift Command hasn't been fired. I sure do. These ships are extremely important to force projection. They can carry pre-loaded equipment and supplies to support a landing just about anywhere. They can carry far more than any aircraft, and one ship would take the place of God knows how many cargo flights.

There are no "community leaders". I know of no "community leader" I would follow unless I wanted to. Don't consider the mayor, governor, any elected official except the President to be a leader. There are precious few leaders around, period, just bosses and big-mouths.

Being a leader is a state of mind. As a leader, you work through and with people to get a mission accomplished. You take care of the people, let them know what's to be done and by when, make sure they have what they need, and they'll accomplish the mission. You monitor and address problems/issues, communicate upward, downward, and laterally. When the mission is accomplished, then you say, "WE did it as a team." That's it in a nutshell, everything from organizing a church social to carrying out a Desert Storm. People first, mission always. Not fucking rocket science, right? If you can get into this state of mind you can be a far more effective leader than the jerkoffs who fancy themselves to be leaders. That's Uncle Joe's basic leadership course. I know. I did it. So can you. 👍

Welcome to the horrific realization of knowledge of how things actually work.

Do you want the guided tour of just how fucked our society is?

Don't forget being an example to those under you, following the rules that you have set as well as what the task they are doing actually accomplishes and how doing it well will improve their lives in a significant manner as opposed to half assing it.

Oh no, not the public schools! If the government keeps them closed, where will our kids receive liberal indoctrination and beatings from feral minorities? We might actually have to...gasp...raise them! My kindergartner will fall so far behind without a school psychologist to diagnose him as trans.

I already knew that months ago and also:

The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. Hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. This new version is the past and no different past can ever have existed. In principle the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or East Asia, but to keep the very structure of society intact.

More coverage of the restaurants peacefully protesting the Mayor's shutdown orders.

The first judge recused herself from an injuction against the restaurants, lol fun game of hot potato.

I was rewatching the classics today when I found the word of God. "Run, homos. God is sending a China virus." He tried to warn us, but we didn't listen. We didn't listen.

joining Kriner in what the growing collection of businesses are referring to as a “peaceful protest.”

They put protest in scare quotes every time they used the word. I guess the fact that they're not tearing everything up and then burning it down means that they're not really peacefully protesting at all.

Things "won't go back to normal" if the dipshits in charge keep flip-flopping on reopening whenever a "spike" occurs.

Things especially "won't go back to normal" if their actions cause our already fragile economy to collapse entirely.

"The new normal" will look real stupid in hindsight if money becomes so worthless that it's better used to wipe our asses.

No, and that was my first concern going into this. We ease the lockdowns, and then our case numbers go up. Well no shit it's a virus. So then we lockdown again. And then repeat.

Hospital capacity is the most important thing, but there's such a ridiculous lag time on COVID-19 hospitalizations that you can't really play around it.

The sad part is that I seem to remember said "leaders" even saying cases would go up once the lockdowns were over. Then they did and they all acted like it was this huge surprise.

A virus does what viruses do, we must end society to save it!
