My area got hit with a derecho once and I'd describe it like one massive fucking tornado except not quite as strong. My neighbor's trashcans basically hovered in mid-air because of the wind currents and then ended up in the woods about two hundred yards away.
Maybe mother nature is sick of the niggery that's been afoot.

When I was younger we had a straight-straight-wind tornado near us. We were only hit with the edges but little me called it "the tear-up storm" and my dad was swamped in work from the resulting insurance claims. Anything not nailed down in the backyard was strewn everywhere.

I have never been more disgusted with the black community. Watching the streams last night, it was obvious no looter cared about justice. This wasn't a protest, this was pure greed. People were laughing and bragging about things they managed to steal.

A lot of the people that buy into those well known brand names are most likely from the nouveau riche and think it's a good indicator of their wealth. Sure, to those without much money or similarly nouveau riche it might impress them to show off their Gucci branded everything, but I doubt anyone from actual old money would be impressed by it. Probably a lot of the "brands" that old money use wouldn't be recognized by those not in the know and don't have the same mass recognition that the luxury brands the general public know about have.

In my experience actual wealthy people do not care what label is on anything. They want items that do the thing they were purchased to do. Heirlooms and specialty-made mean more than store purchases. Dining room furniture bought at a prestigious shop? Meh. Similar furniture that was hand-crafted by Amish carpenters that have learned their craft from generations of other Amish? Value.

If you want to survive post-apocalypse, be inconspicious, mobile and learn skills. A prepper in his vault is a sitting duck everyone wants to break into for those sweet canned goods. Nobody's going to bully you for a rusty hatchet even if you can do carpentry with it, maybe for a shiny fancy one. It's hard to gang up on somebody who can hide and keep a low profile. The most valuable thing will be people who know how shit works because you can't just find something like that in abandoned 7-11 and everybody will want to return to pre-apocalypse standard of living, so knowing how electricity or plumbing works will make you a king.

What got me interested in weather/meterology in the first place was the 1997 Southeast Michigan tornado outbreak and The Southern Great Lakes Derecho of 1998. I think it was the 97 storm that I remember as a young kid being driven by my mom to some place and we ended up driving past some of the damage and it just made a mark on me.

Ventusky dot com tells me that the storms are being pushed north by southern wind currents. Maybe it'll drop a house on Michigan's governor?

I give it a 50/50 chance of making it to Lansing in terms of it being severe. so far it looks like its dying at Lake Michigan right now.
