I think i'm finally getting the hang of this, in spite of being constantly fucked over by the game. As of late I've been using ghostface exclusively and I really dig him, I'm able to defend hooks and gens very well as they don't notice how close I am most of the time, thrilling tremors is a really good perk too, knowing which gens are being worked on exactly is fantastic. Also, thanks for the Franklin's Demise recommendation Bruno, it has made games significantly easier to manage and slow down.

Edit: I just love that Leatherface (with a Purple Chili add-on) counters Sprint Burst. I know I said it before but it feels so fucking good to counter that obnoxious cancer perk. That makes him significantly better than Billy in that regard because he can't really do anything to counter Sprint Burst because (of course) survivors can turn on a dime while using it.

Matchmaking is an absolute crap shoot right now. They're all ragequitting like bitches because the devs disabled ragequit punishments for the moment.
I was losing all night as Survivor so I played two rounds as Killer and 4K'd both, but to respond to your quote; I found a David in the first 20 seconds of swamp as Clown, and when he tried to run I glassed him square on the head from maybe 20 yards. He immediately DC'd the match from that. :story: Felt bad for the rest of the survivors, but not enough to spare them.

What gets me is that survivor fags act all innocent and feign ignorance. Tea-bagging, taunting, refusing to leave when the gates are open, etc isn't trolling according to them. I can't tell if they really believe their own lies.

I'll go to bat for the survivors as a Devil's Advocate here:
Tea-bagging isn't always intended as an offense. When watching streams and playing from experience, there are significant lulls in gameplay, where the ideal move is to NOT move. Despite the action of a chase, stealth and remaining stationary is just as important, and I've seen a number of folks do things similar tea-bagging, such as rapidly alternating between forward and sidestep keys while walking far away from the killer where they could never see. Always assume it's a jittery player twitch and not an insult because for those quiet moments, stutter-stepping or squatting is the only actual move you can do. There's similar motions in League of Legends too, where one of the launch characters Singed had some wonky animation cancels when people move/stopped rapidly without slowing down much, such that they honored the unintended animation weirdness with a surfing skin later on. In a game with minimal input outside of the action, it's restlessness more often than insult, don't tilt yourself when it's likely not even a jab at you.

Furthermore the game actively rewards survivors not running through the exit gates once they're open. By staying on the board, you fake out the killer who's not at the gate by making them wonder which players are there or still trying to creep there. Survival scores continue to build by being the last man in the map and some killers will trade hits/heals with folks left over so all players present get more benevolence and brutality bloodpoints. Challenges even require you to be the last man out sometimes. There's commonly situations where it helps your teammates out on the field to make the killer come to the gate and force you out, so that they can open the other game or move into position while you're the focus. Finally with endgame hooks, remaining on the board is critical to squeezing out extra saves and lategame plays, but some of this decided in the, looking at auras and hand signals and trying to decide if it's worth the risk.

A lot of this could be solved by adding more meaningful emotes you can keymap at your choice and changing the way points are doled out for getting the fuck out, but knowing these devs they're just going to roll with what works now and not fuck with anything that matters.

I'm not talking about a guy who tea-bags once or twice. I'm talking about that cocksucker that constantly tea-bags the instant he drops the 100% safe pallet, makes a vault, or waits at the gate or on top of the hatch knowing full well the killer can't do anything about that.

Additionally, if they wait at the gate for the killer to chase them out they only get another 300 BP. That's it. I understand if there's other survivors left. Okay, that's fine. But when there's no one else on the hook or I have one person on the hook and guarding it there is no reason whatsoever to stay other than to be a dick.
 
If it weren't for Object of Obsession, Freddy can easily face a SWF. But the devs refuse to address this cancer perk.
That perk maked me so mad, the second I see the aura of a teabagging surivor is the second I make a mental note of ignoring them 100% and even then that does nothing since they will call every single one of my moves.
I wonder how things would play out if survivors couldn't change perks in the lobby and the killer could see what they have equipped, being able to adjust their loadout based on that.

first injure and grab, elf dwight runs up and bodyblocks/sabotages my hook/sacrifices himself so the claudette struggles away. They splitpush all gens and don't touch a single totem, them run for the exit when it's not even open and get mad when I down & hook two right at the autohaven gate. I see the scratchmarks of number 3, I'm supposed to walk away? And then they have to gall to bitch about it post-game:

I hope so, so that I got to ruin your friend's game in return. "we didn't gen rush, when just split and did nothing but gens with you helpless in the middle as we SWF'd call-outs to hide as you approached!" And you know what? You lost three men to a sub-par killer playing with a controller that you outranked on both sides, so what does that say about you? (I typed 22 lines and hit enter; SHoe felt the need to type 44.)
 

Cross-play and cross-friends happens on the 13th. Tomorrow will have another hotfix for Billy's saw (wtf) and addressing both chainsaw killers' add-ons (fuck). And another update to the aura system (WHY? It's fine as-is. Leave it the fuck alone).
the more shitty controllerfags I get to knife, the better. I couldn't climb higher than purp as survivor this month and stayed yellow for killer. Hopefully the fresh meat is satisfying on the 13th.

Got more NOED hate tonight and someone -rep'd my steam profile, like their comments are anything but a badge to show off. Clearing totems is superhard guys, tunnel those gens and hope for the best!
 
I'm more concerned what they intend to do with Leatherface's add-ons. Purple Chili makes you faster but if you fuck up and bump into a wall you will wait a while and they will easily get away. If they reverse Light Chassis and add back the slower movement when revving then that's fine. I noticed no difference.

The Hillbilly

The Overheat mechanic was added to limit The Hillbilly's ability to always use his chainsaw. With the previous increase in heat dissipation (up to -5 charges/second), and the fact that heat dissipates during various cooldown phases, the Chainsaw's heat meter rarely became relevant. With this change, we hope to that heat generation will reach thresholds where players have to manage the heat meter more than with our previous iteration.

  • Decreased the base heat dissipation rate from -5 charges/second to -3.5 charges/second

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where the Hillbilly's chainsaw charge would not be fully reset properly after being stunned, leading to the Hillbilly having the ability to use the chainsaw too quickly after a stun.
  • Fixed an issue where the Hillbilly would sometimes lunge at extremely high speeds after being stunned.
  • Fixed an issue where the Nurse could sometimes blink inside hills and get stuck.
  • Fixed an issue causing Killers to be stuck mid-animation after falling from a significant height.
  • Reduce the occurrence of Sync Error code 111 on the Tally screen

All they did was make Billy worse. Again. They left Leatherface alone, thank fucking god. But still, fuck them for nerfing Billy. It must have been a dev I chainsawed repeatedly in a match because whoever it is has a real hate hard-on for Billy.
 
Autohaven, the loooong one where you couldn't possibly defend gens unless you kill 2 early. But killer shack and basement were surrounded by 3 gens and between both exit gates, and you could see both gates standing in one spot so that's where I hunkered down.

Only two whiny comments, and one was from a brazilian streamer with a TTV name, I tunneled him down just to haze him in chat after the game and he accused me of streamsniping and said all survivors were reporting me; checked his channel and he hadn't streamed in a month. Blood Lodge or Azarov's? Azarov's is really good for killers with map control. And if you can hook a guy on one side of Azarov's and absolutely know that the rest of the survivors are on the other side of the map you can defend that hook. That happened a few days ago when I fought a SWF with Leatherface and if it weren't for map control I would have lost.

Blood Lodge is AIDS. Just fucking AIDS. The 3rd 4th worst map in the game because there's so many safe pallets and almost impossible to sneak up on survivors at most gens.

I just saw that. They disabled it this morning at 10. Funnily enough, it was starting to kind of work for me at least whenever I picked Leatherface and I did tend to get red rank SWF players.

BTW my verdict is that Leatherface can fight a SWF which makes him top or very high tier. It all depends on your perks, their perks and the map at that point.

Well, then, BHVR, I guess I'll take this whole debacle to mean that you were not, in fact, deeply invested in this system, nor did you spend the claimed "over a year" gathering data for it. Instead, it would appear that you thought you could quickly fuck around with some numbers and get everyone to shut up about the matchmaking with as little effort as possible. In fact, if I believed you capable of any form of coherent planning, I would suspect you of engineering this disaster intentionally, so that you or your more ardent defenders could deflect any future criticism about matchmaking quality with "remember MMR?", for all the good it would have done you.

Azarov's. I felt like I spawned in the middle of a bowling alley, but the shack/gates/gens ended up being good once the survivors played themselves.
