It's clearly a lie since it was obvious months ago that he wasn't liking the way it was going and he was talking shit about Ralph behind his back. Gator is refusing to accept the harsh reality that the Killstream and Ralph are both dying slowly and painfully.

He's definitely to the point where he'd have to have rehab for either of them. Mixing those is a dangerous game, but the human body is shockingly resilient. If he quit now he'd live a relatively normal life, even with some mild liver scarring. Can't attest to how much he drinks, but I know multiple alchies that went as hard as they could until their 50s and bounced back to a completely normal life when they decided to quit with minimal side effects.

If he cold turkey'd, or potentially even tapered, he'd wind up with some major DTs that could potentially kill him though.

Nick will continue to be quiet about it until enough of his paypiggies in Discord pressure him into saying something, and then it'll just be how he thinks it was dumb and could get Ralph into legal issues but that he still likes Ralph and would still have him on the show or go on the Killstream.
