What I don't get is this urge to have some kind of "redemption arc" for gator. We know now that Gator is a paid member of Ralph's staff (the only paid member as far as we know), he's not going to cut himself off at the knees during the beginning of the next Great Depression to satisfy a bunch of people on a forum.
Gator has chosen to stick by Ralph because he sees him as a friend and it's beneficial for him. I don't agree with it, I think they'd be better off apart honestly; Ralph will never have to grow as long as Gator is there to clean up the messes and Gator will never have to find another thing to fill the hole in his life as long as Ralph is there to waste his time. Sad, but it's their lives.
I just don't understand this need to "pick a team"; everyone in IBS is fucking insane and most of them are snakes. Why can't we just sit back, speculate and enjoy the spectacle rather than trying to be a faggy D&D Dungeon Master and control the story? I'm not saying you're doing this here Melty, this is more of a general thought after all the weird twists and turns the thread has gone through lately. There's always this weird push to find the hero of the story when in truth they're all horrible losers. Even Faith is a loser. Some are more contemptible than the others but really they're all shit people.
That's what makes it so much fun to watch!
