I remember asking "if the DNC was throwing the presidental election, why not just let Bernie run his course?" and the answer was that the DNC was worried about downballot voting.

Kamala kinda runs that theory for me.

My guess is that they're still banking on Biden living long enough to see the election results and I'd say that's part of why Biden is being kept behind closed doors and under close supervision as much as possible.

If they lose to Trump despite all their efforts, they can easily shift the blame to Biden since he's technically the one running and is not only a white male corporatist, but is also senile and in very poor health even for a 78-year old man. If they win, then Kamala is already locked in.

If something unexpected happens and Joe Biden dies before November, that's when a Trump win will do massive damage to the Democrats down ballot.

This election is still really all about Trump, though. If his job approval can get back to just the upper 40s, I think he'll run away with this in a landslide.

People are seriously underestimating how much of an influence Kamala Harris will have on a Biden presidency. If the DNC is planning a bait and switch in that Biden wins and then "haha, you get Harris because Biden was sick all along!" it will be too late. She will be virtually guaranteed for 2024 given that she will have mainstream media backing and will be the official incumbent. A lot of people who are voting for Biden are using the coping mechanism that maybe another president will come by in 2024, but the DNC won't let anything get in the way of Queen Harris.

Forget about the people who won't wear them: There are people who can't wear them.

The CDC has released several statements about how people with lung/pulmonary problems shouldn't wear masks because they have a hard time breathing in them. Some people with these medical issues may not have someone to run errands for them either, so going out in public may not be a choice for some. Heck, lots of people who have COPD need to carry oxygen with them at all times so a facial mask is just not feasible. They've also stated the same for children under the age of 2; masks can easily suffocate an infant/very young child according to the CDC.

That's not even accounting for people with other issues as well. People who are claustrophobic, for instance, may have a really difficult time wearing them (especially for a long period of time). Same goes for special needs people who might be very uncomfortable wearing them.

People wonder why places like Wal-Mart have eased up on their mask policies. It's seriously because enforcing everyone to wear masks is discriminatory. They legally cannot ask people about their medical conditions to "prove" that they can't wear masks. Wal-Mart is avoiding legitimate lawsuits, y'all.

It's just not possible to force everyone to wear masks. The whole crusade is so incredibly futile. lol. I know that Biden released some idiotic statement a few months ago that he'd make wearing masks a law when he becomes POTUS. That's a surefire way of turning off a lot of voters.

Lichtman also has servere TDS. He was consistantly on CNN decrying in 2016 how he hated that his model showed a Trump victory. He also has a book about his support impeaching Trump. The cherry on top is that his 13 keys are subjective depending on how willing you are to give Trump credit on his successes and polls vs the primary model requires people to get their asses out to vote. Even the primary model was willing to rewrite their prediction in case there was a huge crack in support for Trump in the remaining primaries that ultimately never materialized.

Lichtman seems to be acting more like a biased pundit, and Norpoth seems to be there for actual analysis.
