I've never understood how people can sincerely believe this to be an appropriate line of thinking. It's seriously subhuman levels of logic.

It's a new lie. It started with Milo Yiannopolis in 2017; they rioted and shut down Berkely to prevent his speech, with the contention that "words against marginalized communities were attacks and made them unsafe". That justified the pre-emptive violence as self-defense. Yes, it's as stupid as it sounds.

Their idiocy was being beaten down in the streets by the right until Charlottesville, and they've been running rampant ever since the right was taken off the streets. It will only last as long as it takes for the right to get back into the streets.
