Why the fuck would you want that, I'm loving the kahntent. Doug going on and actually getting mad as he realizes that Dick may not be defending it out of deep seat principles, but out of degenerates protecting their own would be very interesting. The biggest problem I see with Libertarianism is that it gets filled up with Libertines, and watching Dax I'm of the opinion he is Libertine rather than a Libertarian. Dax's frustration with the idea of state or community is that the social contract involves obligation (which would involve him doing something that doesn't immediately benefit himself), and the social consciousness fundamentally rejects those who's sole pursuit is one's own individual wants at all costs. His drinking, screwing around, the excessive personal consumption coupled with the outright rejection of anything that doesn't meet the end goal of serving his own gratification and whims outs him as a Libertine. It's why he doesn't seem to have a problem with pedophilia or child pornography, whilst I dont think he indulges in either, he doesn't see a problem with a person who enjoys it doing it as he doesn't believe that any restraints should be put in place of anyone's indulgent or carnal pursuits (after all it's not his kid so why should he care?). Most Libertine writers and philosophers hold similar views regarding pedophilia or any other sexual vice, and a good example of what an ideal situation for a Libertine to be in would be Marquis De Sade's 120 of Sodom. Not saying that every Libertine shares De Sade's sadism or paraphilia's, but the idea of having complete power to indulge your thirsts with omnipotence and without cosequence is something every Libertine craves.

This is actually a really good point. I think people like Dax claim libertarianism like it's a get-out-of-jail-free card for excusing their actions, basically re-labeling their actions as "political statements" and "libertarian" when they get called out for being an asshole. "I'm not a degenerate, I'm making a political statement!"... nah, you're not deep or political you're just an asshole, buddy. :story:

I noticed that a lot of people who call themselves libertarian don't make any sense with their politics, at all, and are basically self-masturbatory degens. But they're right wing degens a lot like Dax, rather than the stereotypical "SJW." That is, we see they're PUAs, lolicon defenders, generally bitching about things no one cares about except for dirty old men. We know you can't call them conservative because they're too liberal (anti-church, drugs, too much sex, etc.), but you can't call them leftist because they're racist and sexist as fuck. Does that mean they suddenly get the libertarian label like it's a trashbin catch-all? Libertarians are supposed to be just anti-authoritarian and pro-self empowerment or whatever, to be fair. They're not supposed to be hyperfocused on the weird crap that people like Dax or Ralph retort bitch about as, again, dirty old men (who are trying way too hard to be edgy I might add).

I'm glad you pointed out this was this was a thing, because I could feel it but I couldn't put a name to it (libertine). I just thought libertarianism attracted a shit ton of degenerates, even though I like some of the principles, and some of the ideas seem better than republicans or democrats. I think now, the problem is just that libertarianism is weirdly broad to most people anyway, and it's very easy to claim it as a sort of shield (i.e. "I'm not degenerate, I'm political"). It is, however, not an excuse to be an edgy asshole. Calling yourself "Libertarian" does not make you look smarter or philosophical, when you're just a dirty old edgy asshole. It does not hide the obvious retardation.

It's a word people like to use because they most likely, read a little bit about Libertarianism, thought it was deep, and they think they're deep too, lmao.
(Also: I've never seen libertarians claim him so I'm assuming he's unofficially blacklisted)
