For one, his real "area of expertise" is psychology, but regardless, that's such a broad designation that it's useless. Do you know how many topics he incorporated into his "philosophical" writing and lectures? He's constantly said weird shit about mythology, religion and culture that isn't supported by academics in those fields. I've even heard Jungians claim that he bastardizes their ideology, and that's the most pseudoscientific shit there is lmao. Not to say you can't swim against the current, but if your claims aren't common knowledge, you have to actually support them with evidence and some sort of coherent argument.

You can like him as a person or whatever, but he's just a self-help guru at best. His actual academic career has been an embarrassment.

What kind of evidence do you expect from Jungian Psychology, kid?

I really like Michael Malice and I saw he appeared on Mikhaila Peterson's podcast so I figure, why not give it a try. Damn, what a trainwreck, for as smart as Jordan is he surely bred a dimwhitted daughter. Her general knowledge was attrocious and she seemed like a vapid slut. The way Jordan talked about her on various podcast I expected to see something like Eugenia Cooney or some shit like that, but nope, just another thot riding her dad's fame.

It's kind of a hallmark of youthful rural Canadian drinking and drug use; there's a strong sentiment to get as fucked up as possible but still be able to maintain yourself and your life, almost like a test of willpower. Combine that with the fact that people with mood disorders literally need some kind of drug to stabilize themselves, and you have the kind of thought process that Peterson had. He didn't maintain his equilibrium and his arrogance with drug use finally caught up to him.

His entire history with drug use perfectly encapsulates rural Canadian values imo, from starting when he was 14 and on. It's very normalized in those areas, and you're actually somewhat of an outcast if you don't participate in it, even amongst the adults.

This is probably the most accurate assessment of the Peterson saga to date. I can attest to that observation, growing up in rural Canada myself. The culture here is very reflective on the usage of alcohol and especially narcotics of all sorts. A lot my friends and myself included got introduced to these things at about 14 years old. Of course though, I never had an affinity beyond cannabis and alcohol though, a lot of my friends ended up getting hooked on cocaine though. Lost a lot of good friends over that drug, fucking horrible to watch the guys I grow up with, become totally different people while using that shit. A lot of people I know by extension ended up getting hooked on some type prescribed pharmaceutical, either being Oxycontin or Fentanyl. Fentanyl though has been the most destructive though for a lot of people in my community though, people have been ODing left and right on that shit. The drug culture is fucked up for sure and is the untimely downfall of Western civilization. Sure, it was built on it in the industrial age, but is likely to destroy it in the digital age.

It's more of a sense of an illusion of control, when you are a user of any of that type of stuff long term, be it a prescribed narcotic, alcohol, cannabis, or whatever. There are always pitfalls associated with it. Problem is when you are using, you do not really see the negative effects of it, only the people around you see the negative effects. A lot of the time, there is some underlying issue, be it emotional trauma, or physical trauma. It is very easy to begin abusing these things, it's like Pandoras box. Once that box is opened, it is very difficult to shut that box, and in the process it destroys people. The cultural phenomenon is quite bizarre, and these type of ordeals always begin as a casual affair. Eventually it transcends into more than that, and it is sort of like you convince yourself it is solving a problem. Even though that it is actually amplifying that problem, then introduces a whole series of new issues, because of how it alters your thinking long term. I can only attest to this from my own personal experience, and I really feel for a guy like Peterson because of the insightful reflections in his lectures. I do not think that his personal short comings discredit his findings, I just find it fascinating that this is really the effect that hitting the mainstream can do to someone.

That was taken in Belgrade, in early- or mid-June. Mikhaila posted pics of them at that same steakhouse on his birthday (Google says June 12), and he looked rather gray and lifeless in that pic, too.

But it's hard to tell with Peterson, because he's always had the pallid, academic cave-dweller look to him. And he's always been a skinny dude; I doubt he's lifted anything heavier than a carry-on bag in his life.

Thanks for that. I really enjoy Malice, but haven't been able to bring myself to watch that interview. She's got such powerful anti-charisma, I legit cannot stand to watch her.

I feel terrible for saying this, but I got Hartley Hooligan vibes from this picture. Peterson's frame is getting increasingly more skeletal while his face and hands remain the same size. It's creepy and unsettling. I hope it's just forced perspective or something, but dayum.
