Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

This right here is the big thing to look at. To parrot a term from the left "Love Trumps Hate". Running a campaign entirely on the perceived flaws of your opponent is a weak strategy. You have to have a base that is enthusiastic about you as a candidate. Biden does not have that, like at all. Trump has a base that actively supports him because they identify with his policies and are excited by him. I'm starting to think we're gonna be looking at a slaughtering on the electoral college level.

Now I'm wondering if we'll even get to see him win on the popular vote as well. If this turns out to be a rerun of the second Nixon election that might finally force a sea change in the Democrats.

Are Trump supporters getting bolder or is his base/the anti-Biden voting base becoming larger?
I couldn't tell you, but I'm leaning towards "getting bolder". Now that we're a few months out from the election and Trump has gone all in on rallies and such, his supporters are almost certainly becoming more excited. Add in the fact that the riots haven't exactly been good optics and we're starting to return to normalcy after months of lockdowns, and his supporters might be more willing to say they unequivocally support him. After all, the general opinion of his Covid response was definitely leaning towards negative, to the point 8% of Republicans said they weren't voting for him. In that most recent poll, it's dropped to 4%.

The "We're not Trump" platform of the Dems is backfiring. Because with the lockdowns extended beyond all reasonable measure and to an indefinite time continuing to strangle recovery and small business, on top of cities aflame and Dem leaders/mayors calling for those who set the fires to be released without charges as "peaceful protesters" the natural response to "Not Trump" is becoming one of "I know, and that's the problem" not "Hooray!"

In other words, Trump may be bad, or just sub-par, but the Democrats have shown they're even WORSE.

The Dems are a tornado of incompetence and lawlessness saying "At least we're not a hurricane of bigotry and orangebad like Trump!" and people are looking over at him and seeing.... a severe thunderstorm that may displace the trashcans and knock out power for 20 minutes, yeah, not what I wanted, but I've seen worse, mostly from YOU.

Huh, the gap between Trump and Biden is shrinking. For anyone who doesn't want to read, things just got a lot narrower in pretty much every battleground state, and general enthusiasm for Trump is increasing. If anyone is getting deja vu, it's because this exact chain of events happened four years ago.
It's one poll and CNN is one of the worst. Don't get excited yet. I'd focus more on Trump's job approval numbers which have been slowly rising than polls still, until the debates.

i overheard some of my black coworkers saying they're either writing in kanye or not voting. a couple said they were going to vote for trump because of the trumpbux. They all hate Kamala for locking up blacks and using them for slave labor. they refer to her as Indian not, black. prior to the Harris pick, they were full on board with BIden. this could mean something, it could mean nothing.

Nah, Democrats are just gonna double down (so it will be a sea change, but not the one that goes back to sanity) and make themselves even more unelectable and go deeper into the wilderness. And the reason I say this is that I've noticed a worrying trend in progressives dislodging "moderate" Democrats in the primaries in states like New Mexico, Hawaii, New York etc. If the Democrats lose badly, it will embolden the radical left's activism and then they'll start making efforts to take control of the party's apparatus. It might be why Nancy Pelosi and establishment Democrats are moving to the left (so they can avoid being primaried out).

Nancy Pelosi love the radicals and believe in that shit. Looks like the failure of the supposed Blue Wave left the Senate in Trump's hands with a net gain and she just went for impeachment when no one asked for it except for the sand nigger from Michigan.

The progressive wing was definitely frothing for impeachment from the start of Trump's term, and I'm all but certain Pelosi was actively pushing against the idea until late last year.

I think that if Trump manages to pull out a 2nd term the Democrats will suffer a schism

The progressive left wont forgive or forget how the DNC pushed Bernie to the side to make room for Biden, who lost.

The blue dog democrats will hate the progressives for the BLM riots and idiotic demands that pushed some centrist to vote GoP to save their cities from the darkies.

The leftist tent has just become too large, too many groups who views and goals don;t really match up. Each vying to pull the platform into their area of purpose. A split will be inevitable IMHO as each group is 100% certain they knows whats the best for "America" and that they are 100% that everyone else is wrong/deluded/evil.

I'm eagerly awaiting the drama of the after election, either way it will be one for the history books.

It's going to happen eventually. The Democrat strategy of "divide and rule" only works if you can unite the diverse lumpenproles around something. Right now hating whitey isn't enough to keep every group in line, because some of the groups (commies, gays, women) are largely white themselves. Not to mention that the over-focus on blacks makes other racial groups ask why they aren't getting a slice of the victim pie.

Anecdotally, I have seen far more Trump bumper stickers in a nearby town that is on the conservative rural border with the liberal coast. I saw 2, maybe 3 in 2016. I have probably seen 15-20 starting a couple months ago. I was quite surprised myself. It's probably double the amount of stickers I'd see in that period of time a year ago. The trend is the opposite for Biden. There are far fewer bumper stickers for him than there were for Hillary and I've seen far fewer than Trump. He isn't as low as the Trump numbers in 2016, but probably only 6. Maybe even 4-5.

There is far more outward support for Trump in that area than there was in 2016 and it picked up noticeably as people have been geared up for the election. Biden is seeing far less support than Hillary did. I don't this is a case of voter flipping, just that Biden has generated far less enthusiasm based on the people I've talked to. A liberal friend of mine has flat out refused to vote because of the Harris pick. Biden will still probably take that county, but the margin was slimmer for Hillary than I thought it'd be and it looks like it will be slimmer still for Sleepy Joe.

The down-ticket shitposting has begun.

To date I have seen one Biden sign.

Of the four Bernie 2020 pride houses 0 have replaced their signs with Biden signs.

I watched maybe 30 minutes until my blood started to boil. Most of them are spitting out straight out lies.
