I'm not one for the whole "you only got hired because you're black"

but...I always found it curious. Did you ever look into Fiona or Alfredo? Like actually look at their youtube channels? Fiona is like sub 5,000 subscribers, I think Alfredo was sub 10,000. If that.

What got them hired? What got them in the door? What even got them noticed?

I just remember this quote from Burnie, about how people would show up at Roosterteeth wanting to work for Achievement Hunter and his response was always "You can't just sit infront of a screen and play video games. Those guys? when they get together they make magic. If you want to do it with them you need to prove you can do it alone first."

Everyone else getting hired made sense. Ryan applied for an IT job and slowly started appearing in videos. Michael had a video with millions of views. Gavin met Burnie and Geoff or some shit. Ray was a big member of the community guides, Jeremy and Matt were big members of the community guides.

And Alfredo and Fiona were....not white....I guess...
Fiona was a friend of Etika and when they realised they couldn't hire him as he was coo-coo for cocoa puffs they settled for a whiny shrill cunt instead hoping some of Etika's charm would have rubbed off on her.

Turns out she's such a cum fun vaccum that she managed to suck out most of the charm of the other members of AH and leave them constantly telling everyone how awesome and amazing she is beacuse clearly those are true and people just can't see it. Tell don't show right? That's how you run a successful buisness that entirely runs on people liking you?

In another attempt to make RWBY a bigger franchise and make First worth getting, RT has made a Dungeons and Dragons campaign in the world of RWBY. Here’s the character sheet. https://roosterteeth.com/g/post/94626948-090a-48c1-90ef-eca5b21c451c

How is this supposed to work, when the lore of your fucking show is about as consistent as the show's producer taking their medication?

Also, I figured out what the next episode of Death Battle should be.

Damn, how depressing. Though I kind of expected it from the last I saw/heard of them. Expected them to take the route of "oh we will sweep our old, outdated unsavoury content under the rug like it never happened!" eventually, for the Twitter/Tumblr crowd they've collected. What a shame.
Its just sad to see something that used to be fun to keep up with die like this. Such is life.

Well, RT has gone all in on the woke stuff (which some would say was a long time coming), and they’re rumored to be fighting for their lives. Truly a shitty combo.

Agreed but it was clear years ago that this is the route they were taking. I enjoyed RvB for years and then tuned into a good chunk of the podcasts and skits, but the election brought out politics in them because they just had to "do their part" and I tuned out instantly.
Someone linked me their tweet about taking down old content because I download a bunch of stuff, and they wanted me to download the entire RT catalog because there's no way of knowing what is the big mean and what isn't with these people.

I looked into it and thought "Oh boy the amount of anger in the replies is gonna be fun" but was more shocked to see how much support RT was getting, so I went to see what their paid fans were like on their own website and it was more of the same. The few who didn't hop on board the self-censorship train were called the usual names, of course.
RT has successfully hired and surrounded themselves by people who don't care about the company or the content. They care only about doing what's right, which doesn't keep companies afloat but no one tell whoever runs it now that.

I was actually surprised to see in this thread that Burnie left. I think they're 300 dead canaries deep in the coal mine and still going.

edit: I realized on review that this post sounds like I don't care about "what's right", and am pro-company or something. No, these people just don't know what's right, everything is wrong and the company is ran by retards who are worse than parasites, they don't even leech anything. They just ruin everything for everyone and move on to the next thing. They are a cancer but RT did this very willingly and intentionally so I don't care.

So are you the guy who archived everything via torrents? The whole Burnie jumping ship didn't surprise me, what did surprise me however, was him having pre-planned his ship jumping two years in advance, and letting folks in on it, which led me to suspect the mass exodus of most veteran producers was due to Bernie being in main man to approve higher budgeted projects (Day 5, Master and Apprentice, Haunter, etc), and why nowadays it seems like most shows are ether in studio, audiocasts, or just dumb shit that can be done on the fly.

Or is sponsored, like right now Barbara, Jon, and some other girl are watching Birds of Prey...

this is what passes for content.PNG

Imagine paying $6 a month for dumb shit like this, knowing it doesn't mean shit anyways. I remember the old days when it meant something to be a paid member, cause you could watch the podcast live in studio and you could actually interact via twitter, which got the podcast trending on some occasions. Now? They wonder why their shit is failing, cause now there's way too much shit behind paywalls, like season 2 of Haunter (the first one is free to watch, amusingly, but also isn't uploaded to Youtube, where a lot more people could actually fucking watch).

Edit to add: Now they're desperately trying to shill Death Battle, because they made an RTAA, one of the few bits of content that gets views, from their podcast, Deathbattlecast...

No I didn't download any of it. I was too lazy to try to create a proper plan of attack and my current internet is so slow it'd take days to get through it all and store it until I could do something with it.
With it being an election year and the world being absolutely insane nowadays I am focused on that sort of thing for now.

That content you linked... it just blows my mind that people have ever watched shit like that. That picture also very well sums up current RT, and it's pathetic.

Wow, this was like 3 freaking years ago. Do they take that long to make skits?

They don't take long to make RTAAs, they just pick and choose moments to do them, but it just seems very oddly timed that they picked an audio clip from Death Battle podcast, just as Death Battle is picking back up from where they left off.

Also worth noting, their Beerus vs Sailor Galaxia video got two million views, meanwhile...

Most other videos barely touched one million, while anything podcast wise is dogshit.

SO that's why. I'm kind of wondering if they're trying to push Death Battle because it'd have a chance to survive if WM comes with the belt.

Most of their spinoff shows have no standards at all. Plus they added an extremely obnoxious host with Ringmaster.
I'd say it's because the spinoffs (at least the animated ones) are just the standards "no rules, who wins?" thing that makes up every vs. show. The research, for better or worse, is what makes Death Battle stand out from the crowd.

I mean, DBX was bad for like 3 seasons, and now it's mostly mediocre. The only good one I'd say this season was Blaziken Vs Lucario.

With how incredibly autistic the RWBY fandom is and with how hard they defend their mediocre-at-best show, you're probably not far off the mark there.

The RWBY fandom has the highest ratio of batshit devotion to actual show quality of any fandom. Like some of the Yang x Blake shippers have a level of zeal for their fictional lesbians that's usually only reserved for ISIS suicide bombers.
