Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

One guy posted an open letter to Dr. Fauci about HCQ and Corona-chan, it's long but it's a very interesting read of stuffs then some of us already mentionned along with some new notes still worth to watch.
Lot of good points there, but good luck trying to get through to that cynical buzzard.

That old fuck sees the absolute worst in everything, it's no wonder he's treating this as the bubonic plague on crack.

Not sure if posted already, but theres an article around: Leaked data from the Wuhan Institute of Virology has indicated the Chinese Communist Party “purged” the database to drastically alter the country’s real COVID-19 figures according to former cyber security contractor Robert Potter.
EDIT: Archive.md won't get the full article under the 'read more' and the video dissappears. Any workaround this?
EDIT 2: for now, I'm just posting a screenshot of the article, still stumped on getting an archive of it and the video which I don't know how to grab

Where's the "Duh" reaction? lol.

Of course this happened.

Besides, at least these parties don't burn businesses to the ground and commit borderline insurrection.

While true, they perpetuate something more insidious. Do you notice anything about those pictures? They are literally killing BIPOC through the spread of white supremacy and racism. Maybe you didn't get the memo, but racism is now considered a public health crisis.

We've seen how their response to the "public health crisis" of COVID-19 has been. I'm sure their approach to the "public health crisis" of racism will be much more rational, restrained, and beneficial for all citizens .

:optimistic:

It just keeps pissing me off more and more how completely brainwashed everyone is about this shit. Like it's genuinely been affecting my day to day mood as of late having to see the absolute ignorance of why all of this is fucking stupid. Smug asshole after smug asshole after smug fucking asshole shoving mask propaganda in my face every single fucking corner I turn, I can't stand this shit anymore. And of course all the memes about how America is doing so bad with "cases" because we "can't behave ourselves" compared to the rest of the world.

FUCK. RIGHT. OFF.

I feel you man, even just going to get the mail is becoming a fucking struggle because some neighbor has to pop their head out and yell at you for NOT WEARING A FUCKING MASK ON YOUR GOD DAMNED PROPERTY.
What I do (if I'm not near my house) is just act super fucking gross (pretending to cough or sneeze) so the maskholes stay 40 feet away from me and I can go about my business.
Fuck these idiots, I can't even get mad at them for being "brainwashed", they're just using this opportunity to lash out at people like they've always wanted to.

They smugly shout claims of Americans "not behaving" while unironically supporting the BLM riots. BLM riots that have very recently robbed and vandalized a Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, by the way. Sick children were put in danger in a plethora of ways.

But, you know, they're on the "right side" of history. Not us. Fuck us for wanting to see and embrace our families again, for wanting to go to funerals to honor our late loved ones, for wanting for these violent AF riots to stop, and for wanting a steady paycheck to put food on our tables again. Right?

I'm not one to cut friendships with people over politics; I've never been that person. I may have finally become that person over this.

Like I said, I refuse to forget how so many people I know have acted during this time.

“We’re getting moneyyyy, we’re killing grannyyyyy”
Alex Jones is always good for a morbid laugh.

There are advantages to living in an area known for passive aggressiveness. People might whisper and think negative things about me, but they will not say anything to my face. I am supposed to wear a mask anywhere in my building other than my own apartment and never do. If the entire building is considering my domicile for self-defense purposes according to state law, then I consider the entire building to be my home. The building manager has seen me and does not say anything either.

I only know three people who got/tested positive COVID so far: My uncle, one of my friends, and one of my friend's sisters (who is a doctor).
I've known two people that died from COVID. One was someone I knew from a side hobby. The other was a college classmate who hadn't been feeling well and died within hours when he finally went to the hospital.

Oh and here’s the other accounting trick that they don’t tell you. A tremendous amount of the “cases” numbers are repeats of the same people. When you get a positive test, they typically require 2 consecutive negative tests to go back to work. So they retest and retest, as fast as the system will allow. Every two to three days they test. And each positive test gets counted as a New Case. 1 person can be and often is between 8 and 20 ”new” cases being presented to the public. The counts aren’t validating for unique individuals
If true, that's horrifying, but also curious since it seems like states are trying to show an uptick in positive cases even though the people most at risk -- namely protestors not taking any sort of precautions -- aren't the ones getting tested and coming back positive as most people would expect. My biggest peeve with the numerical reporting is when they take previously unreported cases and add them with the current day's which artificially inflates the increase and allows to media to overhype the artificial spike.

Not sure if posted already, but theres an article around
Even if ninja'd, China trying to make their own numbers seem lower as not surprising at all because they have a vested interest in making it look like the rest of the world has a bigger COVID-19 problem than they do. If that WUHAN dam breaks (if it hasn't already), I can't help wondering if that might further spread the virus there despite any efforts of the government to claim otherwise.

I just wish the government would stop relying on cases as a reason to keep this up

Of course Trump's brother's death was met with a bunch of memes, Trump jabs, jokes, and Covid taunts on social media.
How fucking scummy can these people get? I don't like Clinton, but if Bill died I wouldn't be laughing about it.
I blame that on the current culture of social media that mainly focuses on being the most smug and passive aggressive as possible to get some clout its can be fuck up to see what people will say or do just for some """influence""".

Honestly at this point I'm more annoyed with how people trying prevent Covid from spreading that I am sacred of it. What I hate the most out of this how everything is pushing to digital every single event being done on a device it just makes everything feels so empty to the point it becomes madding and repetitive and to deal with that the rest of this year and potentially the next few years is just throwing me into a loop.

I STILL don't know anyone who has this disease, and some of my associates are in their 70's and 80's. Walked five miles before breakfast Monday morning, going to walk four more before breakfast this (Tuesday) morning. 👍

There was some day a few weeks ago, I don't even want to bother looking because it'll just make me MOTI, where there was like 500-600 cases reported here and the news and social media jumped at the chance to say CASES ARE SKYROCKETING! COVID POSITIVES SOAR PAST 500! What they failed to mention is that the health department didn't report the previous day's tests so they lumped them in with that day's tests.

I'm also noticing a lot of days in the past few weeks where it's noted that large batches of prior tests were reported. Everyone else is ignoring that, of course, and taking x amount of positives at face value, that those are all currently sick, currently infectious people who are roaming the streets.

I still don't know anyone who has tested positive, neither has anyone I've talked to about it.

I am aware of a couple of people in my online circles who have tested positive. They're acting like it's a death sentence. Not even symptomatic for weeks, but they're convinced they're going to die.

They also consistently fail to mention the severity of these "cases". How many people are simply isolating at home and asymptomatic? How many have mild symptoms? How many are properly sick and how many hospitalised. I think I know which country you're referring to, and if I'm right, then the start of this week, one of the home nations - the largest and most populous - had just five covid inpatients in ICU in it's entire healthcare estate.

You should tell them to kill themselves, that way they can't infect anyone else and don't have to suffer.
