Has Sentai commented either way about Vic being banned? I mean, if he wasn’t, it’s pretty easy to pull a statement/affidavit that just says “Vic is/isn’t banned” or anything resembling a working relationship .
I honestly think Sentai really is just sitting this one out, while Funimation is openly blacklisting Vic. Of the major dubbing companies, Sentai's the one most likely to accept Vic back if the court case ends in his favor. Sentai's also got a lot of "problematic" titles that Funimation will no longer touch as well.
I think Viz has probably banned Vic given the overlap of certain specific VA's who work at Viz and Funimation, but it's probably more of a de facto thing as opposed to a written official memo
In the unlikely event the court rulings go extremely well for Vic, then I could see Viz giving him a few more roles as part of a marketing gimmick since it would get the fans to buy plenty of DVD's and Blu-Rays, but they would be few and far between if this actually did somehow happen.
Aniplex has probably also officially blacklisted Vic but aren't open about it like Funimation was
You took the words right outta my mouth. An answer would be nice.
Grow some balls, Sentai.
Sentai is to anime dubbing studios what MGM is to the Hollywood studios, they're a major player but it's almost in name only at this point. They're the smallest of the lot, while Funimation is the biggest alongside Aniplex and Viz is in a close second place.
The same thing that makes Sentai completely quiet and timid right now is also the thing that can make them the one studio most likely to forgive Vic IF (and this is a massive if) he can win on the appeals and be vindicated in court
I'm praying and hoping the appeals turn out well but seeing as 2020 has been one huge mess of a year, I'm expecting the worst case scenario on this one since it looks like they've already made a decision and will announce it at the hearing since there's no oral arguments.
