He's actually a retarded contrarian when it comes to Trek too. He's one of those Original Series elitists who mostly exist to whine about TNG fanboys being nerds who made the series boring and stupid instead of letting him watch Kirk sex the ladies and punch aliens. An excerpt:
Holy crap. How worn out is his thesaurus? He could have just said "I like the original Trek because it was a fun blend of action, fantastic concepts, and societal issues that TNG couldn't capture in the same way". Thats it. I don't think too many Trekkies would object to that stance. Instead he needs to sound smart by throwing in every big-fancy word he can yank out of the dictionary and say that TNG fans are arrogant snobs not true Trekkies like him. Even when trying to make a legit point, (I don't know how accurate he is on Original Trek and TNG I only just started watching them so I could be completely wrong), he can't help but make a total ass of himself in his desperate need to be better than everyone else.

Also his reason for liking OG Trek for luring you in with its action scenes is perfectly in line with Bobs smoothbrain view on films where the only things worth watching are movies that contain mindless action scenes to stimulate the brains of its dim-witted audience.

Bob is determined to squeeze every penny of value out of that big book of SAT words he bought in high school. His tweets are just so tryhard. What’s hilarious is he sounds even more stupid when he tries to flex his ability to look up big words while always misspelling basics ones, e.g. he never manages to spell “probably” correctly. He’s just pathetic.

I’ve stopped looking at Bob’s accounts, but sometimes he floats up to the top of my feed like putrid flatulence in a bubble bath. (I used that f-word because I’m grossed out by the other one, not because I borrowed Bob’s SAT prep book.) Imagine getting lectured on provincialism by a middle-aged manchild who’s never lived more than three miles from the spot where he was born:

I don't think he and I have watched the same OG Trek.

Bob likes OG Trek because it had hot girls in skimpy costumes -Roddenbery himself designed the more risque ones and he was known to be quite the wolf on set. The reason most of the episodes were centered on Earthlike locations (alternate Earths, or places based on historical Earth,) was because it was a way to cut down on expenses by reusing props and costumes from other Paramount Studio productions. TOS was basically a low-budget pulp fiction show that occasionally tossed in a high concept, high drama episode, like "City on the Edge of Forever" and "Balance of Terror". Star Trek TNG is, conceptwise, probably closer to what Roddenbery wanted, with the pulpy elements toned down and the emphasis on using reason, diplomacy and technobabble to solve problems. The cheesecake had to be toned down because it was the 80s, not the 60's, and feminists/the Religious Right wouldn't have accepted the kind of Male Gaze that was all the rage during the Mad Men years...

Like I said I just started watching Original Trek and TNG so I don't know how accurate Bobs take on both series is. He could be right that OG Trek was more action packed than TNG because of the circumstances behind the scenes and budgets, but he saying it in a way that makes him look like a complete asshole. His view on the two Trek shows could be based off only seeing a few episodes of each series and making his usual smug, arrogant judgement on an entire group of people. Or his entire view on Trek is what hes absorbed from Pop-Culture osmosis, Kirks the rugged two-fisted man of action and Picards the solemn diplomat and thats his reason for liking the OG over TNG. Point is Bob seems to be basing his views on Trek on the most shallow reasons possible; how much action it had or how much puss Kirk got.

Who and who? I don’t know the guy, just saw it shared on my TL.
There was a podcast a while back featuring someone who knew Bob and was telling stories about how he had this belief that there was alternate realities and he'd write fanfiction about how he'd enter them and save all these video game characters.

And it all seemed to be surrounding an old cartoon called Captain N.

Oh, is that the podcast where the guy said Bob told him Mario communicated directly with him or some shit?

Yes, and take it with a grain of salt. But, personally, based on what Bob seems to think he deserves in life. I'd hedge my bets that it's more likely Bob actually believes that shit and just hides it because he knows what the reaction would be as opposed to it being bullshit.

Well we’ve already established that the Chipmans are into tarot cards and “psychics,” so this isn’t much of a stretch for loony Bob.

Ok kiwifarms, I bring to you this clusterfuck
Plot: Footloose but with twerking
Problem: Using irl 11-year-olds as characters and actresses.
Different opinions:
1) Is exploitative and appeal to pedos
2) Normalization will make the dance non sexualized and will stop being a problem unto itself.
3) Moral guardians yelling on the internet
4) Pedos anticipating with hardons
5) Actually ephebopilia copypasta.
6) No limits to art.
Bob seems to support it based on the, as of now, apparent message of empowerment.

Who knew Bob and Dax Herrera would be allied on this one?

Can't really blame him, the marketing is putting everything on making it look as the second coming of Precious on dramas to be taken seriously, which, personally, I think makes it even more egregious, especially with something so ridiculous as twerking competition.
I just think that if this one was more comedic but still trying to teach... whatever message, I still don't get it, people wouldn't have so much of an issue.
In my experience comedy is usually the first step to convince people of something, you can't force people to take something seriously so is better if you don't, to begin with.
I love transgressive art, but can't help to notice the approach is all kinds of wrong.

Hard for me to support “transgressive art” that’s just another attempt to shift the Overton window of sexual norms closer to kid-fucking. Since Bob seems to genuinely love his niece and nephew, I’d hope he doesn’t go sideways on this just to be an edgelord.
