Some retarded Eren/Mikasa shippers tried to debunk the Dawn's Requiem music video by translating a description of it by the main animator on wlyer website, where she says it was just an artistic video.

Except that is NOT what she said. That is a false translation, what she actually said was "As the story progresses, we would like [the audience] to be able to accept the truth that is gradually taking shape as it is shown and with its different interpretations", which actually implies the video does in fact foreshadow the ending.

One of the people trying to claim she debunked the music video immediately deleted her Reddit account once she was found out.

And even if their false translation was true, do they really think the staff would admit if the music video was showing the ending? The pacing for this series is so goddamn slow that no one, not even Isayama, is willing to take a wait and see approach towards the ending.

The charm of this series was always the recurring theme that no matter how bad things got, determination and sacrifice could at least salvage the situation, if not outright save the day. If I had to guess if this is going be an actual ending, I think it's only going to be the one for anime. This sounds like something the studio would come up with in order to salvage this mess.

You have to accept the mass genocide plan first as being the only legitimate way to solve the problem (which I don't, I think Isayama is a shit writer) to accept this ending, which a lot of other people like myself, do not. Then to just murder the entire cast? I mean, its dumbfounding in its stupidity. I mean, to be fair, its not like any of the characters have had decent development in years or are actually still characters who aren't just hollow shells of their former selves, so its basically the equivalent of squashing cardboard cut-outs.

I mean, I laughed when Eren's secret plan for YEARS just turned out to be 'Kill Everyone'. This is even more hysterical. They go to try and stop him with the power of friendship and Eren's like 'naw dawg' and just fucking merks all of them.

Or they're like "To stop you, you'll have to go through us!" And he's like, "lol, ok" and just kills them. Its just hysterical to think about. Also, if you're going to go with this ending, you have to make him truly unrepentant. He should be completely insane at this point and the concept of 'friends' doesn't even apply. He's happy to kill them all and then go live out eternity in PATHS as the master of time and space forever. An insane, mad God that the entire world fears, effectively becoming the Devil himself.

Maybe because the butt ugly character designs or the constant melodramatic screaming but i never got into AoT, it makes me so bored and don't even care what happens next so i dropped it in season 2. Its only saving grace are the few moments where the animation ramps up, the animation studio did what it could to add some flair to it but all the rest of the time it just takes after the mangaka's shitty artwork and shitty writing.

Well, I would actually love the ending on paper. Because I think having what seemed like, for over 90 chapters, an unbreakable bond be completely destroyed because the characters', viewpoints and moral codes are incompatible makes for excellent storytelling.

Eren actually killing Mikasa and Armin would also be him overcoming a character flaw. It's been noted by a few characters, both pre and post time skip, that while Eren is selfless with his own life, he's selfish with that of his friends, and will protect them over what's best for humanity as a whole. So him killing his friends for what he thinks helps humanity as a whole, would be great character development.

But that's on paper. And AoT as a whole has been nothing but fucking up ideas that look good on paper.

But that "peace" did not stop the prosecution of Eldians outside of Paradis, Titans living outside of the walls, and lastly did not stop Marley's warriors from inevitably attacking the Eldians within the Walls.

It does look and feels that mass genocide is the only solution to this problem with the AoT world. Wiping out people memories again won't simply work.

I would only agree with this ending if Eren's plan wasn't full on fucking retarded. Like he had some way of making peace, but his friends didn't believe in it. Or something akin to that. Like his friends got in the way and didn't believe he should have any power whatsoever or they refused to grasp Eren's plans. Something like that.

But his plan is fucking idiotic. If you can't figure out a way to free your people with the powers of a literal God, altering time and space without mass genocide, you're a fucking idiot. So not only is his plan unjust, its stupid as fuck. So I can't really agree with this ending at all. Its a trash idea. This ending only works if Eren's plan is intelligent and he has no real choice but to go against his friends. He's a fucking living God with sky scraper titans. He can just have one of them hold them in place while he just murders everything. What the fuck are they going to do about him? Nothing.

So I can't agree that this ending is smart or intelligent or even a decent idea with the developments that have went on. Its full on edgelord dumbassery. This ending only works if Eren's cause is more just than his friends. Which it is not. Its not a complex moral ending. He's committing revenge and genocide, which are unabashedly evil acts. There is no greater good that Eren is pursuing. He wants to kill, he enjoys killing. He was quite literally fucking aroused when he saw the future of him killing everyone while he was talking to his dad. That he would have any qualms or emotions about murdering his former comrades doesn't work either as he is completely willing to murder men, women and children indiscriminately. So it is bleak for the sake of being bleak.

It is actually a true capstone to this shit sandwich. I cannot imagine anyone being satisfied with this result, except for me who thinks its hilarious that anyone would think this was an intelligent thing to do or a good idea for an ending.

I don't believe for a second someone who is committing an act so inhuman that he would have any emotion for his former 'friends'. Genocide is quite literally the worst crime humanity can carry out. It is heinous beyond reproach. It takes a complete lack of humanity to carry out. That Eren would even care is laughable. Either make him the villain and insane or don't have him be genocidal. You can't have him be sympathetic while committing the worst crime humanity can possibly carry out. Nor is it realistic that he would have any emotional connections anymore, since genocide is quite literally sacrificing your humanity for hatred.

This is why making Eren commit genocide is the most fucking retarded decision he could have made, because it is utterly impossible to sympathize with. Especially with the massive amount of power he has. He has surrendered all of his humanity for revenge. There is nothing relatable or sympathetic with that. Someone who is willing to do that has no humanity or care left within them, let alone former friends.

That's why I don't buy his 'regret' or sobbing like a literally fucking bitch. Someone who is willing to do what he is doing is dead inside. There is no such thing as a just genocide. It is an evil act, reprehensible and unforgivable. To do something like that makes you a monster. No matter how you try to spin it, you will never make me believe that he gives a fuck about anything besides mass murder.
