Rocksteady teases Suicide Squad game

Obviously with a Superman game you would have:
-Cosmic Entities which can go toe-to-toe with Supes
-Timed or strategic scenarios where failing to meet the timer or successfully complete a puzzle results in a bad end. (for example, Superman has to fight his way through 3 booby trapped rooms within 5 minutes or Lois dies)
-De-powered fights involving kryptonite-wielding enemies
-strategic scenarios where the player has to carefully think through power use to avoid harming innocent bystanders or killing non-powered enemies
-non-Earth settings which allow Supes to go all out against his enemies (ex. Apokalypse)

Its not at all difficult to develop a good Superman game unless you're literally retarded.
Timed scerarios? You're giving me horrific flashbacks to Superman 64!

I feel the problem with Superman as a video game concept is that you're giving the player a character who within lore is supposed to have godly power. Superman has footraces with The Flash after all and forget destroying buildings Superman can destroy Planets. Now if you give a player such abilities they want to also destroy, but Superman is suppose to be Jesus Christ-tier perfect. There will be top execs at DC screaming at you if they see a video of Superman just committing mass destruction for the fun of it. And they're not wrong because Superman has been an icon for generations and should be treated with respect.

You can play around with the character though, you can make a defacto Evil Superman as seen in the Injustice Games. But then it's not really Superman anymore is it? I'm interested in Rocksteady's new game because they've had years to work on it. I'm imagining Superman is going to be what forces the player to initially play very stealthy, if you create too much pandemonium in Gotham or Metropolis Superman is going to fly over and beat your ass. But eventually you'll get Kryptonite Weapons and a Superman tracking device to fight him off.

I am very curious to see how this plays. Linear on rails? a entire area like arkham? Coop? As long as it doesn't focus on batmobiles, it will fine.

Probably something like Destiny or that new Avengers game coming out. This IS WB Interactive and they love their microtransactions and games as a service stuff would go into that

I really want a Superman game, I can think of a trilogy right off the bat with the first game being more about his Earth enemies like Metallo, Parasite, Toyman, Kryptonite Man, Manchester Black and Luthor with the Intergang being the goons and the ones causing the crimes events because of course crime will evolve if they are facing a Kryptonian, they will have weapons from the Fourth World (setting up Darkseid) and kryptonite and suits made by Lexcorp. Then you have the sequel combining Earth and more out-there concepts like Bizarro, Mr Mxyzptlk, Brainiac, Zod, Maxima and keeping Earth menaces like Livewire, Conduit, Cyborg Superman and finally the last game deals with the Fourth World, Kalibak, the Furies, Darkseid and maybe even the multiverse with Superboy Prime and the Monitors.

The character has the enemies, the abilities, and the secret identity to make a really fun game. If there's anything holding it back it's the tech but even then, I think it's possible. Imagine a side mission where Mxyzptlk steals Lois soul and forces Clark to fly through rings, while doing so Mxyzptlk is altering reality and there's moments the game has the 64 graphics.

Very disappointing to know this is a Suicide Squad game but also relieved since it's a game as a service nonsense, I wouldn't want Supes or Flash getting game as a service shit as their first big game.

Gotham Knights also got announced, between this and SS I'm interested to see which one does better for WB considering the conection between rock-steady and wb Montreal, plus WB is on the edge of selling the games division if I remember right
So does this mean Arkham Knight’s pre-order Harley Quinn DLC was just a demo for this?
If it is I'm curious to see if they take notes from the arkham game's free flow combat or try to do something different

So wait, is Gotham Knights a true sequel to Arkham Knight?

Batman being dead is a balls of steel move. It may backfire spectacularly, but I give them props for trying something unexpected.

I sincerely hope co-op is optional. The level and rpg elements make me worried this will be a looter games as a service though.

Batgirl also has 2 distinct costumes. The early part of the trailer has her in a costume without a cowl and the gameplay footage has her in a different version with a cowl. Both are kind a downgrade from the Arkham Knight design IMO.

Day 1, I cannot wait to play as this character in online multiplayer

Another meh idea if you ask me.

Just give us another Batman game for fuck's sake, it doesn't have to be part of the Arkham continuity, just reboot the continuity and make another Batman game, why is that so hard?

I'm sorely disappointed if that "Court of Owls" game rumor wasn't true but maybe that's still on the way?

It's a new storyline and not a followup to Arkham Knight. That's why it's Gotham Knights and not Arkham Knights.

If it's a sequel to Arkham Knight(which it looks like): Batman isn't dead.

It looks like it was pre-recorded, emergency video if something happened.

My guess is that Batman shows up at the very end, teasing the sequel.

Edit: looks like it isn't a sequel to the Arkham games...

Looks good though. I'm interested...

This is the court of owls game. They seem to be the main villians...

Personally, I'm down for sidekicks. Nightwing is the shit...

Not me, I want to simply play as Batman, if this is the Court of Owls game I'm pretty disappointed.

I'll still play it, but I just don't see the point in not making it Batman, Arkham Knight was already over 5 years ago, plenty of time for a new Batman game.

Game trailer looks good, maybe the game looks exactly the same? Killing superman is a good premise. Best part of the trailer was hearing Outkast again, or atleast Andre 3k.

Godammnit, why do they always have to ruin Deadshot.

All the pink and purple blood and puffs of smoke make it look like an inoffensive MOBA.

Also, if that's the main squad, there's literally no reason why Superman couldn't instantly tear them apart before they even formulate a thought.

Yeah, but he is Superman. He would never do it.
