YouTube has done nothing but get slowly worse year after year. Sucks watching this happen in slow motion.

Banning Leafy over Pokimane was a brain dead move. Internet millionaires don't need big companies to white-knight for them and ban people for criticizing them.

I have to say the funniest thing to come from this situation is youtubers that make 6 figures a year making videos on drama/leeching off of situations are now treating themselves as if they're jewish people in the 1940s. High chances that youtube simply doesn't care as long as you don't cause problems.

Leafy's content was always very debatable in terms of it's presentation. I didn't see the appeal. Just some dropout in his room that got lucky on youtube and is too socially inept to get a real job. Don't even see why he came back if he's loaded with stocks/real estate. I would've just abandoned all of my online presence. I can't see myself feeling sympathy for the guy that grew his portfolio off of finding random autistic kids on youtube to make 15 minute videos on with dogshit editing back in 2016. No idea what he made nowadays, and quite frankly I don't really care as his old content already put a pretty poor taste in my mouth.

This is such a retarded argument it's not worth a response, do you really think they just censor everyone right off the bat immediately? slowly the boundries of what's normal for them to censor drift further and further, as they slowly push them bit by bit, like a frog in water heating up so slowly it can't tell that it's boiling.

Fair enough. Was he even gaining anything though? I was under the assumption his channel was entirely demonetized due to his past content. He paid a ton for the alwayslucky domain + the "@Leafy" account on twitter. I feel like his twitter is next, and once that's gone he'll be completely deplatformed and make any money he put into this thrown in the trash can, unfortunately.

It wasn't just for Pokimane necessarily, it's for advertisers, showing that dumb poopy edgy people like Leafy aren't welcome on YouTube, so they don't have to worry about accidentally advertising on edgy videos. Plus, PC culture.

But sucking up to creators like Poki is part of it. Keep the marketable creators happy.

They look pretty average at best.

As much as I have my own personal opinions on leafy, I think it's laughable that people like onision still aren't terminated while being proven to be predatory, and no real actions happened towards shane dawson until people had to take matters into their own hands and call him out on his behavior. Which then youtube had their hands up and suspended his monetization, but this wouldn't have happened had people not called it out.

Jake Paul still has a platform after filming a suicide victim and putting it up publicly on his youtube channel, clickbaited for everyone to see. His monetization was only suspended for a month until the situation passed.

If we want to get technical, leafy is just a youtube shitposter, and is really a least of worries in comparison to other content creators pulling some seriously shady shit. I'm not surprised leafy is in this situation, but I wish it was someone else that's actually problematic to youtube.

Can hate him for it and be suspicious of him, but Ethan was right about how difficult it'd be for Leafy to come back and stay on youtube. The site is against most people monetizing and now has all sorts of algorithms at work to ban people for the tiniest transgressions. It's why everyone sells merch now or tries for sponsors.

His 'LeafyIsHere' backup channel has a few videos including a stream with Ethan quote in a loop, #freeleafy

That one which ended with Ethan killing his wife and then himself at behest of a Leafy demon conjured at his shrine (hopefully saved), probably was the last straw for Susan.

There's also quite a few fake Leafys. There long has been, more now, enough for Keemstar to rage about it. Phone posting so sadly no links.

Its so surreal watching people take the position "if you make fun of stupid people on the internet and get deplatformed its on you, nothing of value was lost. Its totally fine that big tech censors these people and nothing bad will come of it"' while posting on kiwi farms.

You know, the site that actively tries to connect every stupid thing you have ever done on the internet to your real name and get it listed on google so people can laugh at you for it for the rest of your life.

The site that has been deplatformed at one time in some way on almost every level of the internet, to the point where the person running it has to do nearly everything himself and take donations in gift cards and bitcoin.

The site that has been banned by entire countries because it stood up to their attempts to censor relevant news when pretty much everyone caved.

The site that has been or has had users involved in actual lawsuits over what we have said about mentally ill people (granted we won).

The site that has an entire section dedicated to allowing women to shit on fat people for being so fat they will die soon.

How do you spend more than 5 seconds on this site and not know that it is the epitome of hypocrisy to celebrate someone getting deplatformed for being mean?

Very valuable and viable option for a dramacow. Plus endless speculation is the mystery filler with these types, in place of substance one gets a persona or various gimmicks.
