Report: EA Is Remastering The ‘Mass Effect’ Trilogy At Long Last (Unconfirmed)

Spamming concussive shots with the human soldier is pretty good.
I loved the sound design in ME3, the biotic explosions sound effects really gave the feeling that you were actually doing something.

I saved Kaidan once in ME1. Biggest mistake. The guy is so fucking boring and whiny, especially in ME3.
The order I tackle romances is based on which game they first appear in, when do they first enter my party, and whats the earliest game you can romance them in. So for my Male Shepard playthoughs the order goes Ashley, Liara, Tali, Kaiden, and so on and so forth and femshep playthroughs go Kaiden, Liara, Garrus, and so on and so forth. So I only plan on saving Kaiden 3 times total. Once as male shep, once as femshep, and then one more time where I romance her as male Shepard but leave her to die on Virmire to give him angst. (may also leave her behind when I romance Liara to decrease my chances of getting locked in with her)

Not gonna lie, the arrival at Citadel Station right after Eden Prime is one of the most cinematic moments I've ever seen in a video game. Between the shots and the music... pure sex. Damn shame they abandoned that sense of galactic wonder for the later games.

Reading through this topic has now made me want to replay the games. I hope this mythical remaster happens because I no longer have my copies of anything but ME3, and I refuse to have that be the starting point.

Would have been nice if they showed butt. You can see Dorian's. Why not someone like basic bitch Kaiden? Is it too much to ask for briefs for the men and better lingerie for the female characters?

Would be nice if they updated the cosmetic changes. But for some reason hair that is Miranda's length is uunacceptable. That's the one thing I'll never understand.

I obsessively played the ME3 mp. My fave was probably the Batarian Enforcer. They have what was basically a shotgun gauntlet that could stagger anything, caused bleed & could be upgraded to explode after a few seconds for insane damage. Also had incendiary grenades that could kill groups & wreck armour. On top of all that they had an insane melee attack that could literally punch the heads off of most enemies. Only downside was the couldn't roll.

I see you too are a man of culture. The Batarian classes were all so stupidly good, except for the Sentinel and that's just because they fucked up the timing on the powers. You could almost Shockwave/Submission Net combo, but the net was too inaccurate/too short in duration to work. That said, you could still make it tanky as all hell and just shockwave stagger and harpoon enemies. Not as tanky as the Krogan Manguard, but nothing really is. I've seen Platnums soloed by the Krogan Manguard.

Def gotta fix Ashley. Poor woman in 1 and 2 looks like a damn Sim.

I didn't mind the elevators tbqh only because the conversations and news announcements were interesting to me

I'm redownloading ME3 for the multiplayer. Anyone want to share their builds? I love trying new builds.

I'm aware of that glitch that allows some characters to max out all skill bars, which is nifty.

The problem with any rewriting is that the two writers who cared, Drew K and Chris L'Etoile, aren't there any more. Everyone knows Drew since he was the head writer and I don't know if he could have made it a great ending, I think he would have made it coherent at least. For me, the best thing would have been leaving the Reapers as Space C'thulu and never actually answer why they do what they do. Hell, I'd never have another Reaper show up at all, just have some contingency that wakes up sleeping servants and lean heavily on Indoctrination having everyone turn on each other. You don't need the physical Reapers. Could also have a great scene with Liara lamenting they never found out why the Reapers do what they do and just have everyone else call her a nerd.

Chris L'Etoile was also a huge loss. He wrote Ashley in ME1, Thane and Legion in ME2 and left after he couldn't get along with Mac Walters after he became head writer. If you want to know why those characters felt flat and not right in ME3, it's because he was gone. He was also the autistic nerd who wrote all those great planetary blurbs when you were exploring.

But yeah, remember that whole Dead Reaper mission in ME2? That, but expanded for two games. Robot Space Gods can't be gods if they explain to the ants why they're smashing them.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 always felt like they should be swapped around chronologically. It just feels bizarre going from the kinda epic ending of the first game to...whatever the fuck was happening in the second. Hell, now that I think about it, Mass Effect 1 doesn't even feel like it belongs to the overall trilogy, it always seemed like the odd man out.

I'll bet $10 the female cast get shorter haircuts and Miranda's bodysuit is gone. And for the love of God keep the D team that shat out Andromeda away from this.

Ever seen Miranda's concept art? Cora in Andromeda is a slightly reworked version. Miranda's initial passes were Blonde with that Karen haircut in a black and orange bodysuit/fancy space armor.

My biggest pet peeve with BioWare was always their concept art. They had some very talented artists who made some amazing concept work, and they'd put in one look or five helmets out of dozens of solid designs. What's the point of having all the talent if you're not going to use it? I look at Jack's concept art and then what we got and I get kinda angry.

Working with Mac Walters and the Weekes must have been like hell.

Kinda wish they did more with those jellyfish looking creatures throughout the series. Sure they got a minor appearance in Kasumi's ME3 quest but still.

The exploration in 2 felt a lot better than in 3. Hell even 1 was better minus the mako.
