Police in Kenosha aren't showing up to active looting and break ins. They're only being dispatched after everyone clears out. They're just now sending people to a tobacco shop that they've known was getting ransacked for the last 20 minutes.
NGL, If I was a police officer in Kenosha, I wouldn't want to respond to an alarm call if there were protestors there ready to attack both the responding police and the vehicles in which they arrive. For them, it might be better to let the looters do their thing and move on before assessing the situation and damage -- as much as it sucks to actually type it.
It's like some mediocre Fallout game DLC.
Regardless of who it is or the reason, i have to give props to someone trying to do a good thing in the middle of a riot. Semper Fi, burning broom person.
I lean towards pessimism naturally, but I've been seeing similar. I don't use FB or social media at all, but friends who do have noticed the same thing. Additionally, I've noticed from within my own social circle, over the last couple of weeks, my friends are expressing "wrongthink" to me. I would assume it's because they know I'll neither judge them or out them for doing so.
Based Social Worker that I've mentioned before seems to be the same way. Their social media has pro-BLM posts and a self-reflective post about White Privilege, but they're also far more candid with people they trust as nonjudgmental about their "wrongthink" (as
@Fliddaroonie put it) in terms of their more based opinions such as violence hurting the BLM movement and how defunding the police/abolishing prisons as activists envision it is a bad idea.
It's a shame people have to put on the "correct" facade on social media in order to avoid being called out or cancelled for having publicly-unacceptable opinions.
Based Chief Craig.
I hope the people pointing lasers at aircraft and cali fags get federel charges as well as the normal. Pointing lasers at aircraft is a federal crime the FAA is somehow good at finding those people, and crossing state boarders to partake in riots is also a federal crime.
I'll have more to say about Detroit in a moment, but the protestors were all given the number for Kym Worthy, the Wayne County Prosecutor, to call her and demand the arrested protestors be freed and all charges dropped. She presents herself as no-nonsense and based, so I'm hoping she doesn't capitulate to any orchestrated effort to let the arrested people off the hook.
At this point, the lunacy of crowdfunding has warped both the internet economy and charitable giving beyond the point where it's worth having any more. Nuke them all.
At this point, I suspect many people have equated GFM and similar sites as the home of grifters and people looking to line their pockets with other people's money. It's a shame that something that had good intentions got as corrupted as it has, and that the people that need or deserve the donations the most don't get them because people would rather donate to people who make poor decisions and won't change their ways.
Gravity Gaming Lounge has a Go Fund Me up. They've raised over 14k so far.
This looks like serious fucking Japes. Jeremy Hambly is doing it? I might be a neckbeard but holy shit I don't trust that fucker. That and they even said they don't wanna rebuild. After seeing it all burned down and stolen the poor folks who made it probably just wanna jump ship and get out of chimp town while the gettin's good.
I also suspect something is amiss because of the posts stating the business is going to stay closed because it simply costs too much to replace the equipment and either repair or relocate.
Still, if he wants to collect money to give them out of pity, because he was fond them, that's understandable. Even people who are assholes have somethings they care about. I'm a terrible person, but I still have friends and businesses I might open a gofundme for if they were in a bind, so they at least are made whole before they close.
It's true that winding down a business costs money -- and can cost a lot if the process is slow or drawn out due to red tape or unforeseen circumstances. in this specific case, however, I'm not sure I'd trust the person behind the fundraiser to turn over the money to the owner or what would happen if the owner refuses, citing his previous comments that encourage people to support a more worthwhile cause.
To be fair, I bet this guy and his terrible family will blow it all on retarded shirt and it just will flow back into the circle in a short amount of time.
I'm willing to bet little if any of this money will go towards the guy's medical expenses which will undoubtedly be high, especially if he's uninsured, and be blown on frivolous material items that won't last long.
According to a CNN article:
i had wondered abut use of a taser. If it had been used unsuccessfully, as stated here, it's no surprise that the police had to escalate to match his escalating behavior.
Things like this bring me closest to the black pill. Have we really fallen so far as a society that we reward criminals for terrorizing their community? Are people so brain dead that they think giving money to criminals makes them a good person?
Apparently yes
Let's not forget that before the first debates at the beginning of the year, NBC's Lester Holt asked all 20 Democratic Candidates to raise their hands if they supported free healthcare of the undocumented (illegals). All 20 of them raised their hands. It's mind-blowing that they want to reward inappropriate behavior while those who do the right thing and show personal responsibility get nothing.
Are churchs the new frontier for these smooth brain thugs?
Religion is probably seen as oppressive in some form, if not patriarchy-enforcing, and deserving of action against it and its followers. That said, many spiritual people who aren't zealots or extreme fundies tend to be indifferent of others' religious beliefs and largely embrace the Golden Rule -- something these rioters don't and won't understand.
And police are not charging her.
I'd love to know if it's because the victim (and witnesses) decided to show Christian charity and decline to pursue the matter or if it's an instance of the DA actively deciding not to pursue charges.
They can recoup hefty losses via "donations to charity" under the guise of BLM. LEGO must be laughing to the bank
If I recall, corporations can only deduct charitable contributions that don't exceed either 30% or 50% of their AGI depending on the type of business. Any corporation with a loss or deductions that exceed the threshold can carry the appropriate amount forward; I can't recall at the moment if there is a limit on how many years those amounts can be carried forward.
Denver is calling the protests riots and the Mayor is telling the people showing up to go fuck themselves.
Oh look, successful black people who did something with their lives are sick of useless hood-garbage and their guilty white cheerleaders.
It's good to see other cities standing up to the rioters, even if it may be too early and too optimistic

to hope more based cities and city officials come forward. And, yes, there are plenty of successful Black people who dislike this garbage but don't dare say so in public, except for instances such as the Denver folks.
Since a week or 2 there are some rumors floating around that as from next Friday Riots V2.0 will kick-off and that they want to turn Louisville, DC, Charlotte and probably
some other cities into a Portland or Seattle.
2 months before the elections.
This wouldn't surprise me one bit. the far Left wants Trump out of office regardless of how, so it's unsurprising that they're doing anything and everything they can that they think might achieve that goal... even if it were to backfire.
Rioters trying to seal the cops in should be considered domestic terrorists and treated as such. 'Nuff said.
My mom called me the other day trying to get me to vote for Biden because "fascism is at an all time high."
Recently, I had to facepalm

when someone with a severe case of TDS unironically stated and believed that Antifa was a group of pro-Trump rioters. wow
Idiots did not understand that their “medical marijuana” was illegal in Idaho? Real medical users who are smart would research these things and act accordingly, but that is clearly too much to ask.
I think most people that use medical or recreational marijuana where it's legal realize that the legality can change on a state or local basis. Crossing state lines is a huge risk because of the risk that doing so triggers Federal jurisdiction when marijuana is still considered illegal on the Federal level.
If I'm right about the federal issue of crossing state lines, Snack Van Guy could possibly face Federal charges in addition to the state stuff somoen else pointed out. I don't know enough about drug forfeiture laws to speculate on the possibility of the snack van being seized for that reason.

With apparent assistance from the National Lawyers Guild, protestors are planning to file a civil suit against the City of Detroit regarding the protest. Appearing in the print edition but not the online one was language suggesting the strategy is to file whatever charges they can as a way to hit Detroit and/or DPD in the pocketbook as a way of defunding the police.
Protesters gathered on Monday night in Clark Park to address the “Detroit Will Breathe” movement that has taken off after Saturday night’s protests turned violent.
