Exactly. Multiple posts have been spread around on Instagram that we should only video police instead of the protestors, in order to make sure none of them are arrested. But the issue is they think the US is anything like China, where the mere act of going out to protest the government is a crime. Many cities and their respective police departments we've seen these past few months have openly encouraged peaceful protests and non violent civil unrest. At first, as someone who saw the middle ground and supported the protests for George Floyd and ensuring justice, but now its apparent as day that its criminals running these rallies, encouraging the unrest and just want to get away with it easier.

So if you are not taking care of their needs in some fashion (may it be money, love, validation) you might get sympathizers but you are not going get active support.

For example I have a neighbor who has tons of issues concerning her back. If I had the money Id help her in exchange of her helping me get on city council. Stuff like that.
