That's my theory as well. No one is impressed with the convention, we know they won't get an organic bounce. I think they're facing an energy void, so they want to generate a late October "surge" of enthusiasm via rising polls.

The entire DNC downplayed this from the second Trump started talking about it (As early as his State of the Union speech, the one Nancy ripped in half). Every single Democrat was encouraging people to go outside, go to parties, come down to New York City and have a parade with us, it's all just a big, fat nothing, and when Trump closed travel between the U.S. and China, Joe Biden called him a racist.

I posted the statistics for last night's stuff and basically what I gathered is that Trump has the enthusiasm and party unity. Only livestream hating on him was MSNBC for the past 4 days.

Him, fucking Bill De Blasio and Nancy Pelosi were encouraging Americans to go out in New York City during January, February and early March. Trump tried to do what he could before, but the Chinese government and the WHO lied so much, it was already too late.

There's no winning play; he has to pick one of these roads and both of them are awful for his campaign. Even if he chooses to avoid it entirely, does anyone honestly think that Trump's just going to ignore that? He'd do something absolutely ridiculous like hold his own debate with a cardboard cutout of Biden just to force the media to cover the fact that Joe Biden refused to have a debate with him.

Avoiding it puts the ball in Trump's court, and going to it puts the ball in Trump's court. Welcome to yet another lose-lose situation.

I've seen outlets like CNN try to push that idea, but 3 U.S. Code § 19 doesn't come into effect if the election results are delayed so long than neither Trump nor Biden are declared the winner by Jan. 20th.

3 U.S. Code § 19 has nothing to do with a sitting President. It doesn't cover delayed election results, and in the case of a Constitutional order of succession and the contingent elections by the House and the Senate, those are also not covered by delayed election results. Contingent elections happen after the votes are already counted. The House elects the president and Senate elects the vice president. The House and Senate will need representatives of two-thirds of the states present, and again, this doesn't apply for delayed elections, it's a completely unrelated scenario.

The only Constitutional and legal answer to what would happen if the election was delayed beyond Jan. 20th is that someone in Trump's cabinet would be appointed as acting President until the votes were finished being tallied. In the extremely unlikely event that this happened, what you'd probably see is President Pompeo.

The entire thing is just wishful thinking. There are dozens of people in Nancy's way before she could use 3 U.S. Code § 19 to assume the presidency in this scenario. The media is just abysmal at fact-checking when it comes to situations that they can use to slavishly pen up fan-fiction for It's Her Turn.

I get where you’re coming from HK, but we all know that Joe Biden did not write this. He was just recently on MSNBC STILL repeating the hoax that President Trump said “there’s good people on both sides in Charlottesville”. Plus, there’s video evidence of Joe Biden not even wearing a mask when he looked at the fireworks ceremony of him looking surprised with his wife Joe Biden Jill Biden.

It’s a no win situation for Nancy. She knows Biden can’t win. At this point her only hope is to keep Biden in the basement to then minimize the damage. With Biden in the basement they can claim election fraud. With Biden in front of live cameras and getting eviscerated by Trump, nobody will accept the fraud claims. The election fraud scam only works if voters can’t be bothered to actually examine Creepy Joe. And the big thing Pelosi is worried about is collateral damage in downstream congressional races caused by Gropey Joe. And right now the possibility of a massive GOP blowout is increasing daily. Notice how many new first time gun owners there are? Safe bet is not one of them will be voting Dem on any race.
