In your opinion, is that a reasonable projection of likely future events?

The child custody part will be substantially what Dana wants, but its possible that he will order one of the party's lawyers to draft the parenting plan if they "win". In this case that would almost surely be Erin, who's parenting plan I'm sure would be just as good.

Also re the fee split, is this based on equity or what the parties can afford or what? It seems likely LowT ends up eating most of that even if the ex gets assigned some part of it because she's not likely to have a significant income for a while.

I don't really do domestic so I don't know the letter of the rule on that, but in actual practice unless the judge is also entering an order for one party to pay the other party's attorney's fees (not common at all) the GAL fees are presumptivly split.

It's what I'd more or less concluded just from even the incomplete information we already had. She has to have a good reputation or she wouldn't be the kind of person who gets appointed as a special master.

So she's a law professor, a mediator, an actual lawyer, and has even acted as a quasi-judicial officer, in addition to her current duties in these cases as a guardian ad litem. She almost certainly knows every judge in the area and has worked with them extensively. She's insanely overqualified for what she's doing in this case. And the recent volley of motions and other papers indicates she's going to take a very active role in the proceedings and this is going to be very adverse to LowT's interests.

If he doesn't wise the fuck up and put down the pill bottle and get his shit together, he's getting his shit pushed in, hard.

The fact that Dana has extensive experience with alimony and child support should be particularly terrifying to ol' Richard. If she's decided to go to bat for this kid and her mother and thinks Richard's involvement in their lives should be limited to the role of "walking bank statement," Dana seems like the kind of person who could make that future a reality for Rich.

This case is amazing to follow. Looking at the timeline of events:

• Ashli was left alone at the house with no transportation and told to take care of the toddler while Richard flew to Utah to slam a new pig for a few weeks.
• Ashli took everything she could and fled to a DV shelter with the help of the first wife, Megan. Ashli had no driver's license, no American bank accounts, no social security number, practically nothing except her daughter and the dogs and a few hundred bucks in a Canadian bank account she couldn't access.
• Richard came back, retained a superlawyer with his patreonbux and started divorce proceedings against a woman who was in a shelter and had no way to get a lawyer.
• Richard, just to be vindictive, went to the Lee's Summit Police Department and reported Ashli for parental kidnapping, starting an investigation.
• The policewoman assigned to investigate the parental kidnapping took statements from Megan and then from Ashli. Immediately (judging by the timestamps on the report) after talking to Ashli, the policewoman took it upon herself to find legal assistance for Ashli, and succeeded in doing so. Let that sink in. Richard tried to get the police involved in fucking with Ashli's life some more, and the police chose to help Ashli defend herself instead.
• Ashli's attorney, Ryan Laudermilk, filed for a guardian ad litem to be appointed to represent the child's best interests. Based on my (layman's) reading of the docket, there was a kerfluffle in which Richard's superlawyer tried to prevent the court from appointing the GAL. After a hearing, Dana Outlaw was appointed anyway.
• Dana Outlaw, similar to the LSPD, sided against Richard.

The OP still reflects a time when it looked like Ashli was fucking doomed, because Richard had gobs of money and a superlawyer and Ashli had fuckall -- but everybody who works with Richard (except the superlawyer, who's paid a fuckton to do it) ends up wanting to punch Richard in the face.

Kenny Garrett is a lazy retard and is likely to sign any order Dana puts in front of him if it's about the kid. She's definitely gonna get paid too, btw. That's usually 6-10k if something goes to trial, split, between the parties.

The judge on the modification is more likely to make her own decisions, but she's a hard ass and had a rep as a bit of a man hater.

His choice is either admitting to selling his Oxycotin OR he admits to taking the Oxy, to faking the piss test that he submitted to the court, and to lying about his allergy.
He is either a drug dealer or has perjured himself*.

Note, drug dealing is one of the triggers that nearly absolutely always bars a custody award and justifies assigning one parent sole custody. Dana Outlaw didn't pick this line of attack for nothing. Arguably it's below the belt, and I don't think Richard is dealing drugs and I seriously doubt Dana Outlaw does. But he's said stuff that, if taken as true, would lead inevitably to that conclusion. Court is a bad place to be a really shitty liar. You need to choose your lies strategically, not just blurt out whatever dumb bullshit you think gets you past the next five minutes.
