So what I’m hearing is the CIA is more akin to what I’d see in an episode of American Dad?
Don't watch it, so don't know! The CIA as a whole is a fairly solid intelligence organization, and suffers form severe compartmentalization. That compartmentalization is where it gets a lot of its more stupid glow ops. But anything really big requires the whole agency to work in concert, as each 'section' does its own individual specialization to create a stronger whole.

This would be interesting if it passes. Pointless in cities like Portland and Seattle since they have toothless police force.

That little lady is about 80 fucking years old if she's a day. That kid is probably a teen and no more than early 20's.

Big fucking hard man eh?

If it's any consolation, that Boomer Greatest Generation Couple probably have a lake cabin that's worth more than this shitheel will ever earn in his lifetime.

What a fucking baby. You can hear the smugness behind his overblown, college girl rhetoric. This is a speech written by a person who has never spent any time in the real world. I can hardly believe a man wrote it. I can't even believe an adult wrote it. This is the kind of language a Wine Aunt uses in a letter to the editor of her small town newspaper complaining about excess noise coming from the baseball park down the street. It is NOT the kind of language one uses to address a sitting President about his role in addressing a violent mob that's about to burn down your entire city.

This is ironically a better response to my longer post than the actual response you gave to my longer post. Wat?
Sorry, I'm a bit tired, that makes my posts a little more erratic than they should be.

Either way, while I think this particular theory is a bit too far out, I can't deny that it does have a few aspects that make too much sense to simply ignore them.
The idea was that Trump would crack down hard and fast first. So you are left with a city burning a bit, but its a hard blue city so its acceptable losses. Note, JUST one.
Problem is: If it's bad enough for Trump to send the NG, wouldn't that also affect other areas? I mean, anyone on the fence between DNC and GOP would tend towards GOP after that.
Well, maybe that's part of the plan. The CIA (or whoever) doesn't have to be alligned with the DNC I guess. If they are anti-Trump but pro-GOP, it's a win-win.

Trump would crack down, get things in order FOR them, and provide plenty of easy photo ops. Then trigger impeachment based on it. He breaks the riots, they reap the rewards.
I think if it went that neatly and fast, that might mean that an impeachement would be hard to push through, wouldn't it? For it to work, you'd need a real blowout of a riot... and it also depends on the NG committing some real bad shit, which might not happen, given that the protesters most likely would disperse immediately once the kiddy gloves are off.

Well, as I said, just my two cents, it's a fascinating topic to be sure. And given some of the shit that has happened in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be true.

Trump can just run ads showing paragraphs of that letter inter-spliced with footage of rioting, and normal people getting attacked and harassed by BLM.

Doesn't matter, the media parades the dead kids and you have 20 George Floyd's, 24/7. Probably enough to swing people. Most people still believe the George Floyd story now. Say that this is finally the proof you are living in Trumps fascist America. Killing poor kids with skateboards who didn't do anything. Double score if you have dead Blacks.

My mom and I have been talking about the Kyle thing and she seems to be firmly on the side of "he only came to shoot people and get notoriety" and "are we valuing property over people now". Yes, he had a weapon illegally, but if anything, I'd say he was there out of frustration of his own at knowing the police weren't going to do shit when the protests inevitably turned into riots. He brought a weapon because of fucking course you would if you're getting near an angry mob.

I'm just so tired and frustrated man. I don't even want to talk about it at all, but she seems to be constantly tuned in to CNN and it inevitably comes up, then she looks at me funny when I say I've just run out of energy to care about happenings anymore.

Sorry, I needed to bitch.

I'll say this off the bat since you seem to think I'm on a position I am not. I doubt this particular thing had much Glow in it. I don't see the CIA having much a role in this. My response was more to this being a Democratic Establishment thing than any of the CIA nonsense. Hell, Just above this I point out the CIA is not some mythical boogyman. I think you and I are equally skeptical of those claims.

Now, to respond more thoroughly. To sending the NG effecting more areas. Yes and no. Its an unfortunate fact that the democrats have a stranglehold on the traditional media. It is also an unfortunate fact that sending in the NG with the intent to properly crackdown would be -bloody-. The political calculus is basic, if effective. "Full court press, show the blood not the riots, frame it as the NG beating down peaceful protesters". Will the truth leak out? A little. But most people will recoil at the violence and not look to deeply.

Proof of this? We have it now. it has taken over 3 months for public sentiment to pass the point of no return on the riots. Now imagine if instead of 90 days of riots, it was only a bit under a week, followed up by every single media channel showing you the broken and battered bodies of 'peaceful protesters'? The truth would never be widly known or accepted, only the narrative.

The core concept here is "Acceptable losses".

As to it being too fast... no. The core concept here is THAT he cracked down. Invoking the Insurrection Act is at best legally dubious without Governor consent. There are provisions to allow it, but they tend to be badly detailed and legally dubious. I'd side more with it being allowed than not, but it becomes moot if there is massive public backlash. The pressure from it encourages the Republican senators to buckle under a hurried new impeachment proceeding. The legal case could take months. The impeachment? Weeks at most.

Well there are those impeachment papers that have yet to be filed Pelosi is holding on to. Why would you move to impeach then not file? It's almost like they are waiting for the right opportunity to do so.

Show her some of the insanity that happened on the nights before the armed militias showed up. Law enforcement had zero control of the situation and people's livelihoods were ruined. Point out that businesses won't want to open up new shops in areas with heavy vandalism and this creates problems like food deserts and unemployment epidemics. Rich people can move out of cities that get btfo, but the poor who are stuck there are screwed. In most cities that means the blacks. Maybe show her something about food deserts.

Property is an extension of people and the destruction of it directly affects people's lives. It's like cutting off someone's hand just to make a point. It doesn't kill them, but it's still shitty and shouldn't be endorsed. You don't cut off people's hands to say fuck the police. Don't want to get shot? Don't burn down buildings.
