Now my guess about wanting the ID and birth certificate to get married seems like a large possibility. Why on Earth would you put a child through this? An erratic job, alcoholism, don't own a home, health issues for all people involved. Does he not know how much diapers cost? Baby food? Who is going to take care of this kid? whats sad is thats only the first stage, they didnt even plan that far ahead, what is ethan's 50k going to put gunt jr through college? it cost the Vickers 10k for just one of their kid's stunts. What about medical expenses @theralph ? insurance? their first car accident or fender bender? what if they need braces? Christmas gifts? Birthdays? Just the best case scenario is expensive as fuck but we're talking about a prospect he himself has seen can wipe out a fifth of his life's saving in a single day

His job has no insurance or benefits or retirement. With all the debt in that household, I assume they would be on benefits, government healthcare, etc. We all will be paying for guntlet. Unless ER has $1 million saved away and is sending this kid immediately to boarding school or something to be raised in a more stable environment, there is no way this is a good idea.
