Having followed this thread for a long time (especially for the great nuggets of info crumbs), I'm not surprised that Osana is a walking disaster.

My favorite part about the demo is that "totally a placeholder" cutscene that he didn't have enough time to animate. Come on, Alex. Literal actual kids with GMod that don't know how to record a real video know more about demonstrating action than you. Also that stupid retarded girl that was being set up to be the next rival literally sounds like she's about to cry or constantly wants to giggle. You could tell the director "direction" was just Alex telling the VA to be "irresistibly cute", probably modeled after whatever anime Alex spends his time jerking his micro-stick to. I can't really say the VA was incompetent, but you can tell it is recorded off probably a gaming headset and the gain is ear-bleedingly awful. Some audio engineer bros can probably correct me on this, but it seems like that VA is piercing my ears, no matter what the volume is. I found that scene incredibly hard to listen to.

The "vertical slice" of Yandere Simulator has the production quality of a high school dev project. At least those kids learning a thing are constrained by time. Alex is just some retarded incel making free tugboat buxx off his cult-like fanbase to occasionally say he's working on a game. I feel like the only reason Yandere Simulator finally got a demo is because DrApeis, but not like that's really a threat because of how much drama is surrounding LoveLetter: I'M TRANS. That game has so much drama behind it that it should be over a year, but nah, just a month. A DownTheRabbitHole video could not cover all the drama without a minimum of 30-45 minutes.

Not that anyone should be surprised that this is what happens when weebs with no relevant skillset try to do hard things like game development.

The rivals should have been done before the game was ever shown off. Even if he revealed them in bits and pieces, that's the most important part of the game. The game could have literally been entire walls, floors, and rooms of 'placeholder: (item name)' written on every plain white surface, and it'd be better off if he had the rivals done first.

But that would require work, and coding, and why do that when he can fap to the different colors of anime girl models?

If Love Letter's code is based off of something else, I'd lean towards it being based off of the code of Watashi no Mono (which is also publicly available) which is another YanSim clone that Alex pressured the developer into abandoning. So in effect, a copy of a copy.

Anyone trying to reuse Alex's code to build a game would probably just neck themselves instead. It'd be less painful.

The most they did was probably look at it and take some small tips on what not to do but, in case they are stupid enough to use some of the code Alex can sue them. Its like the Nintendo leaks from earlier this year although there is multiple ROMs, emulators, and source code they can't do anything with it since Nintendo would sue them to death. The most people making emulators can do is look and take tips and get a better understanding on how Nintendo made theirs.
