“Can I try to trade in my car with them or some other compromise?” Short answer: no.

Russ’ Quora account has now been deactivated.

That’s it? The check engine light came on? Nothing more than that?

What I don’t understand about Russ is he is so aggressively stupid and willfully ignorant. Having the MIL (check engine light) come up on your dash is so broad that it’s practically meaningless. It can be anything from a dying sensor to misfire to a critical failure of some kind to even the gas cap not screwed in tightly. The real info lies in the codes that the ECU stores about the malfunction that caused the light in the first place. Most people would immediately go and get a cheap OBD code reader — or bring it to a garage to do it for you, often as a courtesy — and figure out what work needs to be done. Not Russ. He sees the light and his tiny brain goes no further than “Car broke!? Sue!”

I’m not a lawyer, but I imagine that a defining characteristic of a good one is a healthy sense of investigative inquiry. They have to pore through tens or hundreds of years of case law and precedent to do their job properly, and that requires not only knowledge on proper research methodology but a drive and a hunger to undertake it. I know Russ is only a paralegal, but how can that spirit be so absent in somebody who evidently has a passion for law?

Oh right, he even admitted it himself: the law is nothing more than a tool for him to get what he wants, and he only ever wanted to be in law to act as a punisher for those who wronged him.

How long has he been owning cars? Dealing with a check engine light is one of the most standard maintenance things you have to deal with.

He's always used the public transit here in Salt Lake, UTA. Busses and light rail, walking to the bus/train stops. It's only recently he's claimed to have a vehicle, and he has said in the past that he couldn't qualify for a driver's license. He hasn't provided any real proof that he has a car aside from a photo from the drivers seat at a drive-thru car wash, which was around the time of one of his court appearances/moving into his current apartment/a Utah State holiday, so it very well could have been his parents visiting him to help with lawyer stuff/help him move apartments/visiting for the holiday and they were driving him around in their car, stopped to get a wash, and Russ asked if he could sit in the driver's seat as the car went through the wash "just so I can see what it's like". Like with his tan, he might have got it in his head that claiming to have his own set of wheels will make him more attractive to women. He gets dumbass notions in his head like that sometimes. So it could really go either way on if he actually does have a car now. Assuming that he does, this is his first time owning and operating a car, so he likely wouldn't know that the check engine nanny light can mean any number of things and just assumes like a moron that there's something majorly wrong with the engine.

Who wants to bet if he actually does have a car and if the engine light is on, it is because he failed to do simple preventive maintenance like checking/adding oil or he failed to properly inspect the car before he bought it? Would Russ have been stupid enough to purchase a cheap car just to say that he has a car?
Yes. Yes he would be that stupid.

Also, doesn't the syndrome affect depth perception? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I read that in this thread. That'd mean that he wouldn't be able to tell how far away/near him other cars are.

Anyway, I'm more than happy that he's not driving. Otherwise he might pull an incel van attack.
That wouldn't necessarily prevent him from driving. I have a family member with very limited depth perception due to a birth defect (but otherwise normal vision) and they can drive just fine.

He could easily buy a cheap code scanner, just plug it in and it tells you exactly what that light means. And if that would cut into his hooker budget too much, a lot of auto parts stores will actually do that for you for free right at the store.
Or if he wasn't such a horrible human being, he'd likely have a friend or two with one and he could have them do it.

Poor ol' friendless Rusty, having to pay money for what most people can do by being kind and doing nice things and getting the same in return from people who like you and want to help you out.

It's less about fucking a woman and more about making the woman bow to his whims, even against her will. Remember, he was going to make Taylor Swift his maid and he believes that women should not be allowed to refuse him sex.
I know there was the “it should be illegal for girls to say no to me” but also remember- when Dani cancelled on him, he literally says “she had a duty to see me.” Like, the poor girl cancelled/decided she didn’t want him as a client/decided she didn’t want to fuck him and he DOESN’T care. He doesn’t care that she said no. He paid money and he’s due sex. What kind of horrible person wants to force sex on someone who doesn’t want to have sex with them? I mean, I know the answer is Russ, but still. Like the Olive Garden escort, he KNEW she didn’t want to fuck him and he didn’t care, he paid and he was going to fuck her.

and I’m torn on whether or not russ would escalate to forcible rape, but that’s only because he’s such a puny manlet who is probably much meeker in person. But he is obviously someone who doesn’t care about a women saying no, either politely or firmly.

Even worse, he says he knows someone has AIDS and still wants to fuck them.

I'm shocked she didn't sue him for slander. That accusation could directly negatively impact her income. Yeah, he's broke, but she could have at least forced him to retract that statement.

Considering the premium he puts on sex, I wouldn't put it past him to want to fuck her if she really did have AIDS. But then I'm pretty sure that the working girls in brothels have to have regular blood tests to ensure that they're clean. There's no way that the owners would want the bad reputation that they intentionally let a woman with an STD have sex with one of the johns.

That would be giving him validation if she did and showed that his words had merit. He's a little nobody who uses the law as his own personal way of getting what he wants whether it's justified or not. Her ignoring him would actually be the best course of action. And if necessary, show her latest blood report if people questioned her. Case closed.

I think she did get a restraining order against him. It's disturbing he puts right out on the table that he thinks women aren't allowed to tell him no. I totally think he'd rape a woman if he had a chance.

The only way he'd be able to rape a woman is if he drugged her first. He's too much of a pussy to try to get physical with one.

I dunno if he'd try to rape by force. One, he's not very strong, two, it would be hard to fit into his view of himself as "the last nice guy." I can totally see him trying to manipulate a woman into fucking him, probably by threatening suicide like he did with Erika.

I'm sure he'd have no problem spreading it to other women (and possibly men) either.

She doesn't owe you shit, Russ. If people could sue for cancelling plans the courts would be so jammed up that it would take decades for your case to be heard.
