We're definitely going to see a higher turnout this year due to all that is going on. This is being hyped as one of the most important elections in our history and not without good reasons. The only question is who is going to turn out. Obviously I'm not expecting 180M voters but something around 150M is plausible.

My hot-take prediction on this:
Most likely Georgia and Texas remain Red this election but by hair-raising margins if you pay attention to the details; Drastic measures, such as from this point on abolishing Jus Soli and drastically reducing legal immigration, would need to be taken by 2024 or 2028 if you don't want those states to flip. 95% chance nothing happens on that front and inevitably a crisis occurs when, of course, Texas finally flips due to all the immigration (both foreign and from Californian White Liberals). The most likely outcome of that crisis will, again, be the conservatives likely conceding this, coping really hard, then later on committing national suicide when they desperately start trying to pander to the immigrant vote like it is 2012 again. From that point on the only real resistance will be from far-right groups and they will be crushed over time as they lash out without any clear direction or goal in mind.
And if you think the last few points are unlikely, I would point out that 1) these later events would be happening over a decade of time where things get worse, and 2) the last events more or less happened in South Africa when Apartheid ended so it has happened before.

Every election is hyped as the most important, Really the only thing that is going to determine anything in this is Enthusiasm.
People's votes aren't going to be swung at this point. Everyone knows who Donald Trump is and where he stands. Everyone has made their choice about weather they like him or not. The Question is "Can Joe get enough people who don't like Trump excited enough for him to show up and vote." and quite frankly after the Shitshow that was the DNC I do not think the answer to that is a remote yes.

If I recall Harris polled pretty badly compared to Biden, Sanders, and Warren, and owing to her persecutor past is baggage. If Biden/Harris went full in "law & order while Trump did nothing", that might work had they not been championing the riots.
I disagree with Virginia. Too many Blue voters clustered in the northern part of the state now, which swings the vote. That region is practically southern DC and depends on a steady stream of federal money.
