The risk of this strategy is that Democrats also have many constituencies who have very low turnout, like youth and some minority groups. VBM lowers the barrier to voting, and by enabling it nationwide for the general election, it risks drawing in votes from people too lazy or unwilling to drive to the polls on Election Day.

Even if a good chunk of those votes get tossed out, the increase in participation could skew things in the Democrats' favor. And that's before we start taking fraud into account.

I would agree, but the data from Florida's primaries show otherwise. Despite their massive lead in VBM ballot requests, almost a million democrats did not return the ballot. I wouldn't die on the hill in saying that this will hold true for the general election, but if there were enough democrat enthusiasm in Florida to make VBM maximally meaningful I would not expect nearly a million ballots to not be returned by them. Unlike Nate Slimer or Nate (((Cohn))) I think using objective data points as a proxy for enthusiasm to predict turnout via VBM is meaningful, and these data are very unfriendly to the democrat narrative that every VBM request will be returned.

I'm still not sure if he will receive that much, but great polling numbers among them in Florida definitely puts the possibility of a double digit increase on a national level on the table. If that happens, Texas is safe, Arizona is safe, Trump has a good shot of winning Nevada even with mail-in ballot fraud, and Colorado is in play. New Mexico will stay blue but it will be close and Republicans would have an opportunity to take the state back in 2024 if they can continue to build on goodwill among Hispanics.

Just remember not to fall into the democrat's racist Latino trap, namely that all Hispanic people are the same. This is obvious for Florida, but it holds true demographically and culturally in Arizona, Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Texas' hispanic population is not as young or new to the country as New Mexico's, and Arizona has suffered in recent years from immigration and Californication. Latinos in New Mexico will not vote the same way as Latinos in Texas who will not vote the same way as Hispanics in Florida.

Regardless, it's still a bad sign for Biden.

I see some parallels to the 1980 election here. The country is different, and I think the incumbent/challenger have swapped places in this analogy, But I think there's something to it.

People knew Carter was a disaster in 1980, but the polls were close, so much so that Reagan winning by the margin he did on election night was surprising. The media narrative was Reagan was an unserious former actor who was kinda crazy and wanted to blow up the world if he ever got elected. People admitting beforehand that they were going to vote Reagan was more difficult to do. The country wasn't doing great, but serious, intelligent people were going to vote for Carter because they weren't going to put a crazy extremist in the White House. If you listened to the media, that is.

In this case, Trump's the incumbent but he's the crazy one you're not supposed to publicly admit you're voting for. Biden is for the serious, intelligent people.

But I think a lot of people could say the same thing inside their heads about Biden that they said about Carter: Something's not right about him, and I might publicly say I'll vote for him, but in the privacy of the booth I won't actually do it.

We'll see. Like I said, the analogy isn't perfect.
I don't know if its true but there was a meme floating around that higher IQ people lean or vote Trump lol.

That last sentence of yours is just the screwiness of the EC, I believe.

Context around the Election of '64:
Electoral Votes:
LBJ: 486
Goldwater: 52

Popular Vote:
LBJ: 61.1%
Goldwater: 38.5% Poor dude got murked.

Context on "vote LBJ or Goldwater will blow ya up":

A bit of autistic pondering here on the bold part, but I'm wondering about a hypothetical Trump version of this. How would it go? A slow zoom-in on a child, but it gets faster and you hear the footsteps of running, and the kid almost screams, but gets cut off with the raising of the CCP's flag. And as the flag rises to top, you get the "China would prefer Joe Biden" quote, along with other Joe + China quotes. The pièce de résistance is a distorted US anthem.
There is a way better ad out there but Twitter and the faggots at Linkin Park shut it down.

That's where I am. Although I registered as an Independent in 2016 (and didn't vote), I've always considered myself mostly Democrat.

I woke up one morning this year and realized that I was a Republican now because the Democrats went fucking insane.

Even last year, I started to realize how terrible people Democrats were. I've had a lot of stupid debates with Republicans, and we left mutually thinking that the other was the dumbest person on Earth, but we respected each other's right to be dumb. I've had arguments with Democrats where I was 95% on their side, and they said I was a terrible person who should lose his job and friends because I was clearly a monster/bigot.
Same. Not to power-level too hard, but I've spent significant portions of my life in far-left bubbles--the kind of places where the Jacobin magazine is popular and BLM posters are a dime a dozen.

One time I was looking at the cover of a book about Russian archtiecture and jokingly said it'd be nice to have some more Russian influence, because at least they had some sick onion domes. My friend besides me, God bless their bleeding heart, looked over to me with a scowl. My joke, to them, was a statement of my support of Russian subversion. I had just promoted fascism.

Kind of stunned me for a second--think that was the first time someone took my absurdist humor at face-value. I Had to slowly explain to them that... I was joking.

Jokes, minor disagreement... this wave of leftist ideology makes inquisitors out of otherwise smart, open-minded people.

I hate liberal white woman because they claim to fight for me but didn't offer me sex or be a bull to cuck their boyfriends. The right wing has lied to me on that one.

You must be a cuck yourself. It's worked out for me pretty well.

Wait, what?

Trump is winning Mexicans in Florida?

View attachment 1581552
I'll ask around but I think at least three of the Mexicans in Florida live outside of my area and that's almost a quarter of them.
but yeah when your population, PR, Cuba, or etc left their native shitholes because those places were shitholes at least a few of them notice that putting the same sorts back in power at the new place might not be a great idea
iirc the more inside baseball version adds that the PRs who are (according to demo hearsay) more likely to vote blue mostly moved to places that were already blue, so they didn't change much for how the state counts went
Cuba Norte you could run Stalin with an R next to his name and he'd get the vote, God's Waiting Room of Boca Raton (NYC's southernmost borough) would similarly vote for Hitler if he had a D, so nothing changes there, it's up to randos in the burbs and the sticks for the shiftable demos

Sometimes I think the meme magic is real.

We know that democrats are far, far more likely to request ballots by mail than republicans. There have been a number of analyses (from FL for instance) comparing the VBM numbers, showing that dems far outweigh republicans in voting by mail. Maybe this is to be expected, especially after Trump and the dems got into it over the past month. But look at those numbers. 24% of the ballots were rejected. This leaves us with two possibilities:

1) Trump goaded the dems on purpose to make VBM their hill-to-die-on when he knew that it would actually end up disenfranchising dem voters disproportionately

2) Trump goaded the dems on accident to fall into line behind VBM and the system is just happening to work in his favour

I take the second possibility myself, which just makes me think that there's something out there helping Trump succeed. This type of thing seems to happen all the time with Trump. Regardless, I think the VBM, even with the cheating the dems will attempt, will end up significantly helping Trump.
also I get that feeling that bit about "VOTE TWICE SINCE IT WORKS SO GREAT" did a nice job of sparking a bit more honesty into vote by mail I think

We really need a doomer rating.

In all seriousness, you sound just like the Dems who pissed and moaned the same thing when Trump was elected. America's going to be fine. We're not going to have a civil war, our rights aren't going to be taken away (you think Americans would just immediately fold like that? Get the fuck out), and we're not going to fall to China.

Turn off the news, get off the internet, and calm down. I know this year has been fucking terrible, but we've faced way worse shit before, and come out of it just fine. America's going to be fine.

The moment you give in to the fearmongering is the moment you give those people who actually want all that shit to happen win. Don't fall for it. Don't let them think they can win by trying to scare you into thinking that what they're saying is inevitable, because that's exactly what they want you to do, and you're playing right into the hands by doing so.

America's taken on two world wars, a civil war, much greater racial division, a revolution, an invasion, and a pandemic way worse than this one, and it's still standing. You think an Orange Man, a man with paradoxical dementia, a little cough, and some spoiled brats larping is going to bring it down? C'mon, man.
Remember when the entire country with the exception of a few nutters submitted to house arrest because of a cough?

Remember when the entire country with the exception of a few nutters submitted to house arrest because of a cough?
And remember how that didn't even happen since more than half the country didn't even do that, and the ones that did said "fuck this" after about a month and just went on with their lives?

It's usually my white liberal friends telling me how disrespectful it is that my biracial ass doesn't support BLM and that I'm dehumanizing criminals because I said that Blake should have been shot for going for a weapon.
That's nutso, my condolences. I think a lot of people are in your shoes, those who refused to drink the democratic kool-aid. The sad thing is I think that the shaming tactic works on enough people to be worthwhile, and those it doesn't work on are to be shunned at all costs.
Ironically with all this blm shit not being very much about black, or lives, or matter, I've noticed more black people online and a few irl saying it's all bullshit which is nice. I hope that what I think I'm seeing is real.

Reminder for all you people reading, posting, and lurking in this thread:

"The Democrats have: tried to impeach Trump and failed spectacularly, called him a rapist, called him a racist, accused him of treason, accused him of being a rapist some more, and claimed he had a urine fetish. Oh, they accuse him of having dementia too They have no Oct surprise" - Comrade Fudge
The "Monster a Go-Go" gambit. Bold move.

Empathy abuse -- weaponizing your empathy against you -- is something that works fairly uniquely to the left. They try it to everyone though, and act surprised when it doesn't work on certain people.

But the thing is, even with the left, it only works a few times. "You're racist, give me free shit" works the first time you get surprised by some hooting Neanderthal screaming it at you. The second? Third? 5th? It stops working.

It means the Cuban, Venezuelan, and Nicaraguan vote is coming out. Some Puerto Rican and working class Mexican too. Florida Latinos aren't predominently Mexican. If they were, Florida would be hard blue by now.
Also, if this is accurate, Florida isn't a swing state anymore.

And you can count with Venezuelans to be loudly pro trump, except the fuckers that are sons of immigrants, those traitors went to Biden even when the Democrats have never do jackshit for Venezuela

So... how about a potential October surprise?

Donald Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize following Israel-UAE deal
Christian Tybring-Gjedde, who nominated US President Donald Trump, told Fox News that he is nevertheless "not a big Trump supporter."

US President Donald Trump was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in reaching the agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Fox News reported on Wednesday morning.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian parliament and head of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, submitted the nomination.

Tybring-Gjedde had previously submitted a nomination for Trump to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018 for his Singapore summit, which hosted Kim Jong Un.

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde told Fox News.

“It is for his contribution for peace between Israel and the UAE,” Tybring-Gjedde, a member of parliament for the right-wing Progress Party, told Reuters. “It is a unique deal.”

In addition to the Israel-UAE deal, the nomination letter to the Nobel Committee cited Trump’s “key role in facilitating contact between conflicting parties... such as the Kashmir border dispute between India and Pakistan, and the conflict between North and South Korea.”

Nobel Prize winners are announced on October 9th.

Apparently this nomination was done before he did the Serbia/Kosovo deal too, so there's even more justification for giving it to him. Can you imagine the everflowing salt that would erupt if he gets it? Especially right before an election?

Imagine that he get the Nobel and begin to brag how he actually did things to get it, not like Obama

And I'm supposed to believe that these two people are anywhere close to each other in the polls, am I?

And I'm supposed to believe that these two people are anywhere close to each other in the polls, am I?
The thing that should be noted here is that the Democrats don't really want the big rallies because they're moralfags and they want to act as if they are being virtuous during this time by not having big rallies due to COVID. However, in turn, this causes them to have less outwards support from the masses, which leaves it to the grand advantage of Trump, who is able to get big audiences of people even during the 'rona because he's better as a whole at setting up events to boost enthusiasm into the people despite the lack of moralfaggotry. The Dems trying to act as the "moral" party (and acting as if when so many times they've been shown to not be that way at all) is going to really fucking boot them in the ass.

Somebody needs to tell her that dismissively laughing at every possible opportunity really isn't a good way to appeal to people.

There's also that one guy off-camera saying "Thank you, Paul. THANK YOU, PAUL! WE ARE HEADING OUT BACK THE SAME WAY WE CAME!" What a sad dickless slave to the globohomo.

I just realized Trump posted this video. Trump has as much tact as a polar bear on PCP so for him to righteously say "look at these jackasses" is comedy gold.

And I'm supposed to believe that these two people are anywhere close to each other in the polls, am I?
I remember conservatives bragging about how McCain/Palin and even Boring Mitt Romney had huge rally crowds compared to Obama and yard signs everywhere. These things barely matter.
