Eh, that distinction does have merit, but the general idea of the point remains:
Why do small power structures attempt to form larger structures, whether it's family groups forming a tribe or small tribes forming a bigger tribe? In the end, it boils down to Realpolitik and the advantages of larger groups that have to defend themselves (be that "politically" or physically) against other large groups or outside threats.
For different reasons, the one you listed being one of them? Boiling down historical trends to a single answer is reductive at best.

Now you can't speak Chinese: https://disrn.com/news/usc-professo...-of-chinese-word-affected-their-mental-health

"If you have a lot of ‘ums and errs,' this is culturally specific, so based on your native language," he said. "Like in China, the common word is ‘that, that, that.' So in China it might be ‘nèi ge, nèi ge, nèi ge.'"

I figured it was the professor just being an ass, but then I thought perhaps google translate might be able to show me the actual sound of "that, that" in Chinese Just click the little speaker symbol. It will not disappoint!

City of Richmond just made it illegal to have a gun near any event that is permitted or "should" be permitted. They've framed this as keeping guns away from protests and marches, but what it actually means is if the seven hills ANTIFA decides to throw a "block party", residents aren't allowed to have guns near them to protect themselves or their property.

Let's see. Mob of goblins is coming for my house. I could defend it or I could think, "Better not. It would violate a Richmond municipal ordinance."

okaaaay? While on it’s surface it is horrifying that the cops shot a 13 year old autistic kid. A number of red flags in this story leave me asking what the real story is? Because this article skips over some things that seem important.

We use autism as a pejorative a lot, and it is also the absolute best descriptor for behavior and actions we see every single day online or offline, but don't forget just how fucked up it can be for people who have it and have to live with it. I'd like to know more about what happened because I've seen King Spergs flip the fuck out and destroy entire rooms quite a few times.

Has Antifa, BLM and everything regarding "muh minorities" in general ever accomplished anything positive for anyone?

I was talking about it with a co-worker and i found myself struggling to think what has been accomplished by them, but every field where they have forced themselves in has gotten worse as a result.

Politics, different media such as TV and movies, the videogame industry, social media, etc. All of them have gotten worse because of them.

It feels like i'm missing a bigger picture and their mission is to systematically turn everything they touch into a shithole but i don't understand if it is intentional or not and who benefits from this shitfest in the end.

Now username taken. (Not exactly since I changed the first name to sound like Ernest as a joke)

Anyway I don't want to inject this thread with my nonsense so I'll add something to the discussion.

I wish Louisville KY would admit that they done goofed where Brionna Taylor was concerned and charge the cops involved in her death. There's so much evidence of police fuckery there.

Yeah that event was unfortunate and it would've been the case of legitimate police brutality but since the news story came out after George Floyd's death, BLM is chanting how it's systemic racism and making demands that is unrelated to the shootings with the officers involved. Then no proper police reform will get passed.
