These riots have basically saved Trump's presidency. It's times like these I'm glad I work for a small business and that my boss is a personal friend who shares my worldview. Does that mean I can the struggle sessions forever? Of course not. But it reduces my chances of having to deal with it in the forseeable future.

Spoiler: OT: All In The Family

Which is funny because The Jeffersons was a spin-off of All in the Family. I couldn't imagine either of those shows in 2020, especially back during a time wth people legit dropping N-bombs on TV.

Not only that, the n-bombs were well within context and not used gratuitously.

Both characters were deeply flawed men who cared about their family and their friends.

Archie had his prejudices and often acted with discrimination, but he also came through when it mattered most. Two examples that immediately come to mind:

• Standing up to the KKK when they want to burn a cross on Michael's/Gloria's lawn. Him claiming he would get a bunch of his black brothers (he had recently received a blood transfusion from a colored person) to kick their honky heinies was priceless and left the KKK folks dumbfounded.
• When he learned Stephanie -- a niece cousin on Edith's side -- was Jewish, he got her a Star of David necklace and told her that one had to love everything about the person to give them such a gift.

George was similar in The Jeffersons. As much as the Willis family was the butt of many mixed-race jokes from his mouth, he also had no qualms sticking up for them when it was the right thing to do.

There was also another episode where White Supremacists are in the same CPR class as some of the Black characters, which goes as expected. When one of the Black characters has to use CPR to save the lead supremacist's life, however, the latter's doubling down on the hate and wishing he had been left to die combined with his second in command trying to further the hateful message alienates the remaining supremacists who walk out in a based moment.

SJW's absolutely HATE those two shows.

Oddly enough, SJWs and other critics of the show miss the point that George and Archie were purposedly scripted to behave over the top with their prejudices (perhaps in a theater of the absurd style) to show how those prejudices and corresponding discriminatory actions were equally silly when one looks at them with a critical eye.

The biggest problem with that idea is that most so-called sex workers -- strippers, e-Thots, and cam streamers -- have varying degrees of autonomy. High-priced call girls may have that, too. However, most prostitutes on the street are hooked on drugs and need money to support their pimps and the substance abuse pimps impose on their girls to keep them from walking away from the lifestyle. That's never going to be as glamorous a life as other types of sex work no matter how much these wordsmiths redefine stuff.

A little OT but funny: When caller ID first arrived, the phone company gave me a caller ID phone if i'd subscribe. One day I got a call from someone who said he was from a polling company and would I answer some questions. I, being young and stupid, agreed. They ran me through the whole thing, then asked me what city I lived in. I told him and he said, oh, no, we already have too many people from there, sorry to have taken up your time. Well, I thought about this for awhile and to amuse myself several hours later called the number on caller ID. They answered and I said I was hoping that someone from my city had dropped out so my answers to their poll would get used. They totally freaked out.

This was definitely in the early days of caller ID. Now, survey companies hide behind bogus caller ID data in an attempt to make them untraceable. Worse is when they spoof they number of an innocent party who then gets the angry "WTF you calling me?" calls.
