Today, I read an e-mail that suggested that the pandemic may cause issues with people meeting the upcoming tax deadlines of 15-Sep (Corporations & Partnerships) and 15-Oct (Individuals). I'm not sure what if anything will happen if this is true. As it is, there are plenty of people that put their returns off to the last second, but I have no idea how much of it is due to COVID and how much is a matter of procrastination.

Many states, especially those run by Democratic governors, still seem to think they can simply ask for free money to plug their budget gaps. Unfortunately, tax revenue -- namely withholding and social security taxes -- at the Federal level is also down, so I have no idea where they expect this money to come from. The worst part, however, is that it seems like these same governors aren't even planning for a scenario where they get zero federal assistance; they simply assume they'll get whatever they ask for.

Meanwhile my dumb ass has to pay quarterly-estimateds or I get fined even more. Fuck this dumb shit.

I'm a nerd with no social life and I hate this stuff. Society now has rapidly changing expectations regarding the wearing of masks, the design and material of the masks, staying indoors or going outside, restaurants, events, quarantines, travel, lodging, etc. These expectations vary from place to place, and they're not written down in one place where a nerd like me can just look them up. You have to go state by state, company by company, sometimes property by property, and hope the information is current. If you're wrong, you invite public humiliation at the hands of Karens, followed by ostracism. If you're lucky.

Fauci is a special kind of nerd because he can take his mask off at any time. If you call him out on it, he'll lie about why he took it off and call you "mischievous" because he's Anthony Fauci and he does what he wants. Regular nerds have to face refusal of service, criminal charges, fines, etc.

If you are in college or have to go there for online classes you cant take your mask off under any circumstance. Not even if you are sick or dehydrated or if you are 6+ feet away from everyone else. But Mr. science man gets to do whatever he wants. fucking ridiculous.

Assuming we ever do miraculously reach that point where the curtain of lies is fully pulled down, things will get very interesting. They have to know there's thousands, if not millions of people who have axes to grind. The post earlier in this thread has a point, they have to keep up this song and dance as long as they can so people don't get wise that their lives have been fucking ruined for no damn reason, but assuming the truth wins in the end they're not only delaying the inevitable but they're making a worse case for themselves the longer they forcibly drag this charade out.

Way more people are going to die of the side effects of the lockdown in the next decade than would’ve ever died of it if we had done nothing

That's the big kicker a lot of these sheep aren't fucking getting. We've lost as many, if not more lives as a result of the lockdowns than there would be if Rona-Chan was allowed to run her natural course. And that's even before the complete destruction of economics, general degradation of mental health, and a surge of other issues like domestic violence (hello "peaceful protests") and obesity. The sad part is, the true extent of the damage won't be known for years to come, if ever, thanks to the higher ups covering up as much of that shit as they can.

I've tried over and over to explain to idiots that the world didn't stop when far worse plagues (like the plague, Spanish Flu, ect.) swept through. They counter with "but they didn't do muh lockdowns" and it's like, yeah, lots of people died. But what we're doing now is killing lots of people AND dismantling everything in sight at the same fucking time, for a cough that doesn't even have a bigger kill count worldwide than plain ol' heart disease does for the US alone.
