Dax is the quintessential spoiled gen x "man", raised in a twilight of male led traditionalist culture that protected the idea of the male as the leader of the household and of the culture but tempered with incoming movements that permitted more and more things that were seen as degenerate or weaknesses. He was raised in a time of culture being aimed at young boys being told theyre special heroes and they're the one but the messaging was youre special if you help others and it was misconstrued by self centered kids like Dax who thinks a male hero is special in and of themself and their gratification is priority. The mesh of older male values of martial prowess and a new and confused call for tolerance of things once considered too feminine lead to a self centered idea that a man is both an island but also should be catered to., the same expectation of praise as man but for protection and coddling as women once were allowed to expect

So you have here a man that protects and honors nothing, who has no self control over the emotions he hasnt deemed gay enough to try and hide, has no dignity and follows no standard save the few things he's absorbed through osmosis as being the traits you need to call yourself a man, he will never back down not because he's right but because he wants to pretend hes a man, A real man would never be in this position but would step down if he somehow was and would have more than screeching like a teenage girl.

A superficial masculinity that uses emotional outbursts and screaming and appeals to base attributes of what he perceives to be a man like porn or anger as the only emotion or faux aloofness and appeals to guns or monster trucks in his art or speech. What I don't get is how brain dead dax is, he repeatedly states teachers are more likely to rape kids or if you want to get your child raped send them to a public school, when his girlfriend is a teacher in a public school.
