The government scheme paying 80% of income ending in October is the Furlough scheme. For employees. Chloe is not on this.

The Self-employment grant paid out 80% of average trading profits over the past 3 years for 3 months in July and will do the same at 70% in October. There was no requirement for people to stop working. It’s a grant.

If the council had been paying her rent, she’d have had to have been on Universal Credit. This wouldn’t automatically stop in October and neither would it have allowed her to claim from either of the other two schemes as she wouldn’t be eligible unless she was unemployed or on a very low income.
