Big ups to the cops for releasing the video almost immediately.

After all, it seems like 99% of the time the video exonerates the cops, and the more quickly you get eyes on what happened the better.

What's the worst that can happen, they burn the town down? If we've learned anything, you won't stop them by holding the footage back.

Edit: Just watched the whole thing. DAMN that escalated quickly, dude got well within the "killzone" for a knife wielder and that was some impressive shooting while on the run.

I still wonder what the DA's gameplan was with restricting it. And, did he intentionally show only the footage from an angle that hid the pills in Floyd's mouth from the press? Cause we had several versions of the derp-face floyd but only this latest shot from the judge shows the very, very obvious pills in his mouth.

Bodycam video is starting to make rounds in the crowd. People are still being all 'this still doesn't address the problem'. Presumably because a social worker would have been better to respond to this.

It would have been bad optics either way, really. Current situation, we can clearly see the guy was trying to stab the cop. Stabber looks bad. Cop looks justified. If cop didn't shoot the guy but instead got stabbed a bunch of times and died, stabber still looks bad and can also be charged with murder. Thank goodness for cameras right? Even if the quality is kind of potato-y.

They thought that everyone "Didn't do nothing" and the videos would show that police are just trigger happy white supremacists. Turns out they were the "violent murdering madmen" and they can't rile up people when the videos show the cops were actually acting in self defense for them selves and the community.
