What browser? I've not long switched to uBlock in Chrome and get zero ads, without faffing with settings. The "block element" function is a godsend, too; much better than ABP's.I did and I’m still getting ads![]()

If you want a hobby/passion project like LGR.1: I know for powerful PCs it's worth to building over buying a prebuild, but is the same true for low spec machines? When I'm saying low spec meaning a POS' that basically is just for browsing Facebook, Youtube, and all that shit.
There are bluetooth adapters that connect to the 3.5 jack. You still need a wireless protocol to use.2: Are there wireless headphones that hookup via the 3.5mm jack? I've seen USB ones (I believe the PlayStation ones are like that) and I would seriously consider any headphones that work similarly but with a 3.5mm jack as that would personally be more useful for me than either USB or Bluetooth. I'm taking a wild guess not considering I haven't found anything like that, but hey, figure it's worth asking before I give up on that retarded quest.
Lower-end commodity PCs work on pretty low margins already. With a custom-built machine you will still have more options with regards to upgradability - you can get a CPU with an integrated GPU for now and then spring for a dedicated video card later if you decide you want it, for example - but if that's not so important to you then a cheap Chinese box with limited upgradability might actually be a bit cheaper than whatever you can kit together.1: I know for powerful PCs it's worth to building over buying a prebuild, but is the same true for low spec machines? Either HandbrakeDoes anyone know a easy way/app to add and write subtitles on a video with no watermarks at the end?
So here's two I've been curious about, and hopefully are dumb enough for the thread.

The former, a wireless headphone with a receiver that plugs into a 3.5 jack, something in line with the GameCube's Wavebird Controller if you're familiar with that. I could go with just some standard bluetooth or USB wireless set, but it wouldn't necessarily work with everything I have, but 3.5 probably would. Yeah, I know, it's a stupid thing, I've tried looking for something like that for a little bit sometime ago and couldn't find anything like it. So I imagine nothing like that probably exists, or at minimum's very rare and probably overly expensive, but figured can't hurt to ask before I completely give up on the idea though. However I'll keep the latter idea in mind, that would probably work for me quite nicely, so thanks!Wait what? You want headphones with a wireless ADAPTER that is powered by a 3.5mm jack? Or do you want wireless headphones that can also be plugged into a 3.5mm jack and work like wired headphones? That one is easy, there's a lot of those, the first one is weird as hell.
Eh, thanks for thinking of that, but I've already heard that, and me, and my family for that matter, are quite paranoid with used tech, we prefer to have shit under warranty. If you want a cheap PC buy used, you can pick up a perfectly fine Dell or HP office machine for $100, it will likely have an i5, 8GB of ram and run on integrated graphics. Throw in a low end graphics card*, maybe more RAM and you have a PC for gaming as well. Then an SSD, a better power supply for a better graphics card, point is that you can build on it over time.
*a card that doesn't need additional power connectors, their custom PSUs won't have those and it won't supply more power than necessary.
Disk decay?A DVD isn't read by any player. Other DVDs stored in the same place play, and I see nothing physically wrong. So what's up?
(the DVD in question used to play OK)
Here's an Amazon search for "headphone jack to bluetooth adapter" which looks like it has some products which will do the job. One problem is that it requires power to create a Bluetooth signal, but normal headphone jacks are not powered, so the device has to have its own battery and that will drive up the price. The former, a wireless headphone with a receiver that plugs into a 3.5 jack, something in line with the GameCube's Wavebird Controller if you're familiar with that. Disc rot? If you hold the disc up to a lamp or bright window, can you see little dots of light coming through the media?A DVD isn't read by any player. Other DVDs stored in the same place play, and I see nothing physically wrong. So what's up?

Saw 2 little dots of light, so it may be disk rot.can you see little dots of light coming through the media?
Happens to everything. Factory disks last longer, but aren't safe.Saw 2 little dots of light, so it may be disk rot.
It's a factory-made DVD, not a DVD-R(W), so how did that happen?
