Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

The reason rial and marchi haven't been fired (although I'm sure sexual favors and general cliqueness have helped) is cause they're far too public. They can fire Stone and denbow cause they're background nobodies that only autists like us would notice.

And while rial is getting a starring role in Uzaki Chan. It's far from a mainstream and popular show at least in the west. I know on the internet, due to the memes and non-troversies surrounding it, it seems like a much bigger deal than it is. It's a c tier show to them like hajimete gal and shit like that.

Still I think you're ultimately right that once the lawsuit legitimately ends they're both gonna see the roles dry up besides long running series where they'll keep the roles for a while. Although I'd love to be proven wrong on those exceptions.

I'm more interested in seeing what will happen to these shitheads when conventions open back up. Daddy sabat going to be able to keep them appearing if they get an axe?

That’s right, Vulpes, shame on Karen for condemning a vile terrorist group for destroying lives in a fire. God, you’re a stupid bitch.

First Scott Barretto loses his job. Now Tammi Dumbo loses her job. Two people who played a role in this fiasco are no longer in Sony/Funimation. Man, oh man, what could be happening behind-the-scenes in Funiland.
This is karma, you can't tell me otherwise. Like seriously, 50% of the people against him have gotten fucked in worse ways they tried to fuck up Vic with.
I'm not surprised tbh, it happened to me when I had my twitter too. It happened when I was being Pro-Vic, just by liking tweets. The list I was suddenly added to was called "Pedophile Defenders".

A little tip to deal with these, if you block the creator of the list (in this case, is this Darren Johnson guy here), you can get out of the list. You can unblock them again & you can still be out of the list. It's like an On/Off switch.
It appears that Evan Stone is no longer with FUNimation. He was their in-house legal council when the lawsuit was filed. They ended up hiring outside council, John Volney of Lynn Pinker Cox & Hurst, to represent them.

Welp, Sony is on the purge mode.

That's basically what I meant. They're quietly removing people, but Marchi and Monica are public, so there's no way to quietly unemploy them. They could technically stop giving them new roles....but the sexual favors, cliques, and 'we need to own Vic' means that they just have to keep trickling them roles as long as the social media fight continues actively, just because everyone keeps saying they're not going to get any.

Incidentally, I heard that not only is Uzaki-chan another low-tier unimpressive show, the main waifu is a bad adaptation of her manga self, so even among the potential audience of manga readers, the anime is less popular than it should be.

Is it that, or is it that they're rubbing it in our faces that they can destroy the dub of some "creepy fanservice anime" and none of us can do anything about it?

Uzaki is probably anime of the season. That and the Demon King one, which I still can't tell if it's a parody or not.

There's our third instance confirmation.

Sony did a purge of Funimation during all this mess.

That or it's rats leaving the sinking ship. Scott Barretto and Tammi Denbow are both gone now too. However, Tammi was always Sony.

Not sure these are all connected, after all, shit happens, but it's very interesting timing.

If they could do that, they'd have done that already and much more frequently. Then again, if the likes of Zoe Quinn taught me anything, they'd also work to not be as openly disdainful of those outside of ideological camps and work to maintain a mask to bring people to their side.

Get a company into a lawsuit and you’re almost always gone, regardless of it the lawsuit was bogus or not.

Jordan Cope was gone from Patreon 2 months after the end of the lolsuit, and the guy did nothing.

And has Jamie been named to do anything since the dismissal of the suit? Or has she been sidelined.

Didn't Rial or Marchi literally have a huge twitter meltdown bragging about ruining anime for people?

Why purge the lawyer, though? He didn't cause any of this and wasn't in a position to stop it before it went too far. Maybe his legal advice conflicted too strongly with the directions the hanchos wanted to go, but otherwise, I can't help but wonder if Stone leaving was just incidental.

My friend also wondered how Ron Toye would act if he witnessed Monica being hugged by Mickey Mouse at Disney World or Disneyland if they ever went. Do you think the manlet sheepdog would try to hurt the poor kid in the costume or would he scream about how said person didn't get his permission to touch Monica and for good measure would he sit inside the building where meet and greets were taking place to ensure that everyone got his consent before going near characters to receive hugs and pictures. Since in Ron's little world people need Ron's permission for affection because it makes him feel uncomfortable.

Considering it's often a woman in those Mickey Mouse costumes, Ron would absolutely go on a remote slinging spree.

If it were true that there's an underage girl out there whom Vic had sex with, we'd have seen an affidavit by now. The defense would've done everything they could to get their hands on her. Remember Marchi straight up saying she was hoping there were underage victims so they could press criminal charges?

Either Michele pulled that story straight out of her ass, or someone pretending to be an underage victim of Vic messaged her and she believed it. But I honestly think she deliberately lied to cause Vic pain. There was no reason for her email to be part of the filings, it was only there to cause Vic distress.

I'm more inlinced to think Michelle pulled it out of her ass.
If she was willing to help the defendants with an affidavit, she would've been willing to help identify this alleged underage fan. The fact Ron hasn't run his mouth on this yet is proof enough that it's fake to me.

Maybe in looking over how they ended up in this lawsuit, Sony found out that someone had asked Evan if there could be any legal blow-back from those Funi tweets, or anything Ron, Monica or Jamie were doing online and he said, "Nah, man, it'll be fine!" Or maybe Sony didn't look into it, and just assumed that a competent lawyer would have kept them out of this.

I'm also sure that Evan was going to go, regardless. Sony's got their own council, and they're cutting back their TX presence. Evan was redundant.
