Also, I wonder why he'd be so categorical on this. It seems like he might find evidence later on. Better to say 'Can't confirm or deny at this time, I'm still investigating'. I don't see how he can have '100% confirmation' something didn't happen given that he doesn't have access to all of Faith's accounts and that both Faith and Ralph are have an extreme incentive to deny anything happening earlier, even if it happened.

If I were him I'd avoid any statement exonerating the Gunt on anything.
