We already have enough gay in this thread from Vic's pants. Too much gay isn't necessarily a good thing. I don't wanna get banned.dox ur collection of gay pants
Is this thread going to continue talking about Vic's gay pants? We already have enough gay in this thread from Vic's pants. Too much gay isn't necessarily a good thing. I don't wanna get banned.
or the 300 bucks for a photo with a star.Thats when cons went psychotic. Thank you wizardworld cons.Incidentally, I'm against the idea of congoers having to pay for autographs, because people pay anywhere from $60-200 for entry to the con in the first place and having to drop $20-50 on every item you want autographed on every guest you want an autograph for is exorbitant. However, that's not Vic or really any of the VA's faults. IIRC, charging for autographs is a thing that came about to offload the cost of guests from the convention runners onto the congoers. Much like expecting customers to pay the waitress' paycheck alongside the price of the food, it should really be the responsibility of the con to pay for its guests, not the congoer.
I know he was one of the first, but I seem to remember someone like Stan or @EriMin said it wasn't actually his idea, but the conrunners'.
A decade or so ago it was the general practice for the convention to pay a flat appearance fee for the guest with a list of duties the guest had to perform. Usually this was something like “X number of programming hours and X number of autograph hours” at that time autographs were not charged for. A while after that, when conventions began moving away from being “mom and pop” shows and began to be run more like the large multimedia cons they began to adopt the multimedia autograph policy. Most conventions would never be able to pay high end celebrities enough of an appearance fee to make it worth them taking to time to appear. Instead they offer them a guarantee. If the guest agrees to appear then the com will give them x amount of hours in an autograph/ photo area and “guarantee “ them that they will make a minimum amount. If the guest makes that amount in sales then the con doesn’t have to pay them anything or pays them a greatly reduced amount.I know he was one of the first, but I seem to remember someone like Stan or @EriMin said it wasn't actually his idea, but the conrunners'.
Chuck had it in his sworn declaration that Vic was one of the first to do it, and everyone was pissed until they saw him racking in money.
I have absolutely no problem with anyone making money however they see fit. Weebs seem to have an infinite amount of cash, so why not take advantage of it?
Hummm, so if a very popular voice actor goes to a convention and a large number of attendees want an autograph, do you think that may cut into how much the other guests make?the VA’s or whoever charging for autographs is actually a rather brilliant business model. And one that has few negatives. It’s an ultimate free market function. It makes the VA’s cheap enough to the cons that they can get a lot of them in. It enables a given VA to earn more than a flat attendance fee, commensurate with their effort, charisma and presentation. It means that actors fans are directly paying for (and thus voting for) their favorite to be there. And it gives value to the autograph or similar. A free autograph has no value. It’s just scribbling son scrap paper. Scrawled on a con program that wilbe lost, dropped on the convention floor, etc. it cost them nothing thus has no value to them. Whereas one they paid for has a specific price and value that the purchaser will cherish. Humans are weird.
That's zero-sum thinking. Another way to look at it is that a very popular voice actor goes to a convention, so a lot of people go to see them, but while they're there they spot two or three lesser-known actors that they also like and buy signatures from them too that they wouldn't have bought if the popular actor hadn't been there to draw them to the show.Hummm, so if a very popular voice actor goes to a convention and a large number of attendees want an autograph, do you think that may cut into how much the other guests make?

That's probably what pissed them off. That he actually had merch to sell and they weren't talented or smart enough to provide any. Now everyone has merch. YouTubers with 5k subs have merch for goodness sake. Standard practice now. So if they still don't have merch to sell fans...they are still dumb and untalented.A decade or so ago it was the general practice for the convention to pay a flat appearance fee for the guest with a list of duties the guest had to perform. The practice comes from this origin.
Though I don’t recall Vic being the first person I saw charging for autographs, it stands to reason that since he was also frequently a guest at these multimedia conventions that he would have an idea of what people make at them vs what the VAs were making at Anime cons. It’s very possible that he then began negotiating that pay style for his anime convention appearances.
Granted this is all speculation based off of what I’ve personally seen.
He certainly is the first guest I remember seeing selling MERCHANDISE at his tables. He’s also the first person I remember seeing selling headshots and such.
But if I had enough left over for Sabat before this whole debacle, I might have gone to see him. Now I wouldn't piss in his Booth's direction if it were on fireAll i'm saying is if i have the choice between getting Vic's autograph, then have enough left over for Monica Rials autograph or nachos, i'm going with the nachos.
I don't know much about making hashtags but what about #unlinkLinkara tee hee XD.You've probably already seen this on the main page. Still thought I should post here.
Linkara, a former TGWTG content creator and complete failure, who supports fellow former TGWTG content creator and complete failure Marzgurl and KV, had some of the books leaked he wrote in the 2000's. They're basically rape fanfics and portray interesting viewpoints on women and children.

Prior to all of Linkara's past escapades on the internet being revealed to everyone, he claimed to be a feminist ally. Interesting how people like this turn out to be major degenerates who are just putting up a facade of being morally righteous. You've probably already seen this on the main page. Still thought I should post here.
