JK Rowling’s latest book is about a murderous cis man who dresses as a woman to kill his victims - Discuss all the JK Rowling tranny shit here

Wow I mean, I'm sure making all that money off of all those book sales is really hurting JKR right now...

This is the leftist version of conservatives buying Nikes and Gillette razors just to burn them and flush them down the toilet respectively. Wokescolds ridiculed conservatives for giving companies money and publicity - only to repeat their mistake. Either way, Rowling gets more shekels for her efforts.

Same happened with my friend who jumped on the BoPo movement and started complaining about clothes prices being higher for bigger sizes even tho it's not the case in our country.

That sounds a bit dumb anyway, I mean the manufacturer has to use a lot more material in the big sizes than the small ones. If all sizes *must* be priced the same then aren’t slim people subsidising big people?

It's not even about the material. The material costs for clothes are in the range of pennies. And, if you're making your clothes in a place like Bangladesh, manpower also goes for peanuts. The difference in manufacture cost between a normal M-sized shirt and a XXXL one is tiny. It's all about the marketing.

Plus-sized clothes are seen as "exclusive" product lines. They're not the bread-and-butter that the company sells, and that's why they're more expensive: the fact they're meant for a specific type of consumer adds to its "value" for the company, and therefore the cost to the consumer. Fewer people are going to buy those (our obesity epidemic notwithstanding), and so by definition they're more expensive.

It's like with sneakers: there's very little difference in manufacture cost or quality between the cheapest and the most expensive Converses out there. But you're still going to see a product range, from cheapest to most expensive. The difference is that the most expensive ones are meant to be more "exclusive" and are usually made in smaller amounts.

ETA:
The lesson to be learned here? If you want to be special and weigh 300lbs at 5'2", get ready to get special treatment from clothing companies. Just remember that special treatment costs extra.

They’re good kids books (IMO, having read them to various kids in my family.) They tap into an established Uk literary tradition of boarding school literature and they have magic and wizards in.
Ever wondered why all kids in your family became Fags? its because of this...
Why do you people not understand that there is only one english author worth reading, and thats Hemingway...

Most young Swiss people at least understand English and hence all the woke shit from the Anglosphere flows directly in our country without a gate to keep it out. There are people who actually call black people "people of colour" without even trying to translate it into German.
Das liegt am Deutschen, Farbige kann man nicht umstellen wie im Englischen.

Ach komm schon, "Mensch von Farbe" klingt doch toll :philthy:

I see people going back and forth on "ooh new Harry Potter video game!" and "doing so is evil and you're supporting transphobia". It's hilarious. But one concept I keep seeing is people claiming that Rowling is actively campaigning to end trans rights? Where exactly do they keep getting that from? Unless I've actually missed something.

As far as I'm aware tweets aren't "campaigning".

I have seen Tweets stating that she donates to anti lgbt groups, but no solid source on that yet.

I agree it would be delicious to hear about that. I think she may have donated to women's charities, and if so then maybe they're making a stink about "what about trans wahmen too". They state things as if it's true without any facts. Either way I love how they treat her as a villain for being pretty reasonable imo. And them having to rationalize their nostalgic love of Harry Potter and not being "transphobic".

Not the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world, but man, the game actually looks pretty fun. If buying it means I hate troons, then so be it, I'll be the TERFiest TERF in the world. But at least I'll be having fun, shooting virtual lightning out of a virtual stick, while these losers seethe on Twitter about it

Sorry if this is off topic, but since Harry Potter fans are leaving the series due to their hate for J.K rowling, and now are negative rating the new game that will be coming out soon, do you think the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios might suffer a similar fate. Like fans no longer visiting the theme park or, heaven forbids, go there and start protesting for it shutdown?

Just wondering where the fans draw the line.

I think a lot of the spergs on Twitter vastly overestimate how much impact their retarded little circle-jerks have over the outside world. I know someone who works at a bookstore, and she says Harry Potter is still a big seller, because people either 1) don't know about the Twitter drama, or 2) simply don't give a shit. I suspect the theme park is similar. I'm sure a handful of people will boycott it, but there will never be a serious dent in ticket sales because of internet bullshit

I basically see it, like many point out, as similar to the uptight Christians who hated the series because of witchcraft ans whatnot. It didn't really affect sales, and it might even bring more people into reading it out of contrarianism. Plus a lot of reasonable and normal people enjoyed it as a kid and will pass it onto their kids, and don't simply jump to hating things they loved because of internet reeing.
