It was fun while it lasted, now everything will just be forced recycling which was bad enough when its was the girls/guys playing the exact same solo games separately. Who needs things to happen naturally when you can just force it because you saw a popular clip and thought "HEHE I can do this too!". I only lightly follow 3 of them, and just see whatever gets posted here.

That's definitely just doomer posting (and by extension this I guess) but I do think there will be a ton more over saturation of people hopping on to trends and then drama being created to have their names show up, followed by fans/community people propagating it instead of just laughing at them or ignoring it. People that are already established I don't see it affecting unless they engage for whatever dumb reason, but that seems unlikely for them to do.

Projekt Melody probably should have stuck with pissing off camgirls, and staying popular with 4chan types (ie., lonely anime-lovers and NEETs) would have been the wise decision for Nyanners. I'm not saying changing platforms or stances ruins your characters forever, but damn girl know your audience.

I find it an entirely plausible theory. Joining Hololive is a catapult to success for those who can land it.
You instantly gain access to the hundreds of thousands of fans, as well as a group of similar members to interact with. You also get various protections from Youtube arbitrarily fucking you over.
Just look at the girl behind Mori, the pink reaper. Formerly a very obscure singer, gets in HoloEN and gets a vid to a million views in about a week.
An ancient e-girl would have to be extremely stupid to not latch on, which means that the only reason why it wouldn't go through is if she didn't qualify.

The HoloEN auditions were in May, and the 5 members' accounts were made July 16.
Nyanners declared herself a vtuber on or around July 20. Although HoloEN wasn't announced until September, it's very likely that everyone who didn't pass got the message sometime in June or July, which would explain these dates.

Also, this was probably the average e-girl audition. No wonder it was five out of a few thousand entrants.

May recently made an audition tape to be a Vtuber for the company Hololive. She left the video unlisted/privated on her channel because she didn't want people on the farms critiquing it.

Something I noticed, and enjoy with Hololive atleast, is that they refuse to go political, like coco got a superchat asking her to say "Trans rights" and she just said never heard of it, a while ago.

And one of the en girls got the same one to that got skipped entirely, dont remember which one, think it was Mori.

I totally agree. I'm sad that Pekora had to drop Fallout 4 because of the bugs but hopefully she'll pick up Metal Wolf Chaos some day. Rai Galilei over on the Niji side played New Vegas, but I haven't watched his video yet.

Nyanners did everything right and it's a tragedy she never got to make it as a VA or whatever. As far as I'm concerned she's AOTYAY for this alone.

I looked it up once and ran across some interesting pictures of their likely 3D setup that stuck with me; there are no interesting 2D setups, it's literally just an iphone for capture, FaceRig+Live2D for rigging, standard other software for streaming.

I'm not sure what level of sophistication they have going on in their 3D streams but it seems like the motion capture suits and space helmets are a common theme. No wonder Luna broke her damn neck pratfalling with that thing on.

Those mocap actors are cuter than the 3D models.

fucking this. it's incredible (and concerning) that stuff that was common sense just 15 years ago is now like an epiphany for some. most companies had a strict no politics rule, if you wanted to talk about it do it somewhere else. now you get mandatory BLM screens.

don't underestimate the effect, considering the demographic and what they don't learn in school. first time I had to deal with something like that, which was completely minuscule over here blew my mind. there's a difference reading about cultural differences and actually experiencing them (even if it's just from a cute animu girl).
