At first I didn't get why they always insisted on it being on some kind of MMA card rather than just renting out a gym + ref and having some kind of sparring / exhibition match. AFAIK there's a local gym in just about every city that does some kind of Friday night fights with limited rounds for people to do what amounts to a bit of higher intensity, full contact sparring with each other. Surely one could be rented out for such an occasion for the right price.

Then I realized that it's because they all want to set up as many roadblocks as possible so that it never happens but they don't have to look like they're backing out/down. A regular show seems to peak somewhere between 700-800. Destiny bumped that up to about 1.5K the other night; personal drama might add a couple of hundred which fades with the heat.

The numbers will likely decline gradually over a course of months; there won't be a sharp drop like when Donga/Andy/JF had big falling-outs and viewerships took sides.
