has nothing to do with vtubers, that's part of nip character design. you'll always get birthdays (marketing, fans can celebrate it etc), measurements, blood type (don't ask me why) and at least a short paragraph of backstory or simple character description. west does it too to some degree but usually never publishes it, nips just go one step further in that regard because it's easy work that makes them more money.
as for age, sometimes you get people working below the age of 18, but that's usually late teens starting early, I highly doubt there's an actual 6-9 yo vtuber.

while that was probably the intention, it wasn't really made for weebs (some smaller vtubers don't even get translated). the details etc are really just par for the course. remember in the beginning it wasn't even aimed at anyone outside japan (like most stuff they do), only after it blew up hard.
honestly, I rather watch some animu girl being cute while fumbling about than some e-thot begging for donations. least a proper camgirls puts out for it.
