HoloEN is pretty bad but it's not quite as bad as the "unofficial" english VTubers like Melody, Ironmouse and Silvervale among others.
They all have the personality of a sack of bricks, have next to no chemistry together.
I do really find the Nyanners thing funny because she got her start pedobaiting, disavowed to try to get more money, then went right back to it when she realized trying to be a "professional voice actress" wasn't working and that she lost $$$ by turning on her pedo fanbase. Maybe not the worst thing one could do but it's still worth pointing and laughing at.
Wouldn't say they're worthy of their own separate threads but they do belong here. Especially with how rapidly growing the autistic fanbase is.

yeah, she seems to be genuine - more than your average e-thot cleavagestreamer at least, but running it as a one-man show with that high dependence (to make money to move out) has all the trapping of an incoming trainwreck. there's a chance if she stays away from politics like the japan vtubers, and finds someone in RL she trusts to help her out, disconnected from all when shit inevitably becomes too much and she needs to take a break.
staying under the radar (lesser target for people that want to mess with you) and having a place you can retreat to should take care of most of it. if not that's usually when people start making threads...

was going by the description, haven't really watched it. boyfriend would be good, however that might just delay stuff if they break up. that's why someone independent outside the whole thing is usually the best, and if it's just to provide cover in general (most vtubers are backed by a company that shields them from most shit etc). at one point or the other you need to get off the internet for a while.

the other thing is it also makes things more personal, vtubers are usually just the persona (to a degree), if people even know the person behind it and whatever the do in their private life.

I honestly wish her the best, as entertaining as most lolcows are, it's not always fun. that's why I hope she makes it somehow.

I enjoy a lot of the Hololive girls but I'm bothered by how many cringey try-hard basement dwelling weebs that are too ugly to be e-girls have crawled out of the woodwork to hop on this new craze to garner simps and clout. Interesting to see her actually doing something other than just tweeting, considering I saw a tweet from her the other day responding to someone asking if she was a Vtuber and she said "no, I'm a virtual tweeter."

I can't really place my finger on why but I really cannot stand her. Maybe the overwhelming autism is triggering something in my monkey brain to steer clear.

In any case, I do suspect that if her story is true there is a huge trainwreck incoming. She's going to end up latching on to the first guy who will help her move out and more likely than not the relationship is going to fail miserably, kind of like what happened with Venus Angelic. I'll give that Melody and Silvervale at least talk like normal people and don't sound like they abuse a voice changer, I'm not really sure how anyone can stand to listen to Ironmouse with her voice and watching her stick up for Pokimane was painful. I'm just of the opinion that thots are thots with a facerig or not. It's all the same shit to me. Watching people like Venti sperg out does make HoloEN likeable by comparison though.

It makes me wonder if some jap antis feel the same way about ASMR and titty-cam streamers coming from NND and achieving success in the vtuber world. I don't know, gatekeeping is fine and all. The real difference between them is that agencies and managers that help organize and sanitize and popularize talent tend to be a lot better off, and the independents that I thought I'd prefer because they can say "titty" on stream, tend to be embarassments.
