Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

"I lost that line..." Bruh lay off the fucking teleprompters already or at least quit making it so agonizingly obvious. You can see him look back-and-forth between the interviewer and the teleprompter for fuck's sake, they're not even trying to hide the fact that he conducts interviews with a fucking teleprompter because it's blatantly visible (A) in the goddamned video still.
If Biden wins, the first hundred days of his administration will be Congress envoking the 25th Amendment to throw his ass out of office and into a nursing home. There's no way Xi and Putin would tolerate him dragging a teleprompter into a meeting.

Someone on .win pointed out that he was shown pre-recorded questions from Hispanic people beforehand off that screen (full interview) so he could've potentially said "I lost that lady..." (Not to defend him or anything but someone will probably bring that defense up.) Now I'm not autistic to figure out mouth movement or reduce the volume of the interjection of the interviewer, but even if he did say that, it still really doesn't make sense to me why he's so focused on responding to the TV screen and look so concerned about losing the feed of a pre-recorded video, so it probably doubled as that and some form of teleprompter. Plus I feel like the suddenness of the interviewer to immediately interrupt Biden and shift gears when it looks like he's going off script tells me they were made aware of this in advance.

>It is estimated that 200 million people will die, probably by the time I have finished this speech.

If he is using a teleprompter in an interview..what happens if the reporter asking the questions goes off script? Or are we now just completely admitting that the journalists are 100% in his pocket and only asking pre-determined questions. I mean we knew this already..but just having it directly IN THE VIDEO FOR EVERYONE TO SEE.

I am.

Yeah, that does seem like he said "lady" instead of "line", there's clearly two syllables in the word he used and you can see the movement of the second syllable more clearly in his turkey neck than his actual lips. That doesn't particularly explain why he's hyper-focused on that screen or why his speech instantly derailed or why the interviewer is trying to rip his attention back over to him. The second lady that showed up vanished just as suddenly as she did, and that didn't seem to confuse him.

I've been poring over that scene for the last 40 minutes and the whole thing is just weird compared to the rest of the interview. You can even see the video of that woman pause before they cut away from it, so he was just talking to a still image of some lady for a good 20 seconds before it cut out. I think he assumed it was a live feed, and that's why they cut it on him and why the next lady was cut out immediately after she was done talking.

I mean who hasn’t been on a zoom meeting that consisted entirely Of “can you hear me” “I think they can’t hear me”

Biden marks grim coronavirus milestone, says ‘Trump panicked’ on pandemic (archive)

As the national death toll from the coronavirus pandemic passes 200,000 people, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden cautioned that Americans must avoid “becoming numb to the toll that is taken.”

The former vice president, speaking Monday at an aluminum manufacturing foundry in the crucial battleground state of Wisconsin, once against blasted President Trump’s handling of the pandemic, saying “Trump panicked. The virus was too big for him.”

Biden also made a personal plea to voters who supported President Obama in 2012 but voted for Trump in 2016, saying he understands why they fled the Democratic Party and vowed if he’s elected, “you will be seen, heard and respected by me.”

The trip was Biden’s second this month to Wisconsin, one of three states – along with Michigan and Pennsylvania – that Democrats had carried for a quarter century before Trump narrowly won them all in 2016, helping him score an Electoral College victory over Hillary Clinton to win the White House.

But four years later, an average of the latest public opinion polls in the state compiled by Real Clear Politics indicates Biden holds a 6.7 point lead over the president, virtually unchanged from a month ago. Biden’s current advantage over the president is roughly equal to the 6.5 point lead Clinton held over Trump in an average of the polls on the eve of the 2016 election. Trump ended up winning the state by just seven-tenths of a percent.

One of the reasons Trump won Wisconsin is because of voters in places like Manitowoc County, where Biden stopped on Monday. Trump carried 59% of the county’s vote in 2016, up 8 points from four years earlier.

Biden - speaking to workers after touring the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc – said "I want to spend just a few moments talking about those who voted for Donald Trump last time. When I was out here in our administration, you voted for us and then an awful lot of people in this county changed and they voted for Trump last time.”

The former vice president stressed “I know many of you are frustrated. You’re angry. You believe you weren’t being seen, represented, or heard. I get it. It has to change and I promise you this – it will change with me. You will be seen, heard and respected by me.”

Once again contrasting his working class upbringing with Trump’s privileged background, Biden charged that the president “sees the world from Park Avenue. I see it from where I grew up in a town like this, in Scranton, Pa.”

Biden again noted that he was recently reminded that if elected, he would be the first president who didn’t go to an Ivy League school in a long time. He emphasized that “it’s about time that a state school president sat in oval office, because you know what, if I’m sitting there, you’re going to be sitting there too.”

The Republican National Committee (RNC) fired back, taking aim at Biden’s record.

“Today, Joe Biden paid lip service to America’s workers,” RNC rapid response director Steve Guest charged. “In Biden’s 47 years in Washington, his agenda only harmed workers.”

The former vice president – in his address - charged Trump held his supporters in low regard, saying “the next time he holds (a rally), look closely. Trump keeps his distance from anyone in the rally. The folks who come are packed in tight as they can be, risking disease, mostly without masks. But not Trump, he safely keeps his distance…He’s willing to let everybody else in the crowd risk their lives, but not him.”

THE LATEST FROM FOX NEWS ON THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

He also spotlighted recent comments by former White House coronavirus task force member Olivia Troye, who last week in a video supporting Biden charged the president “doesn't actually care about anyone else but himself.”

Biden – pointing to Troye’s comments – argued that “now we know what he really thinks of the people who come to his rallies from someone who saw it up close and wrote about it, up close in the White House. The former employee said he calls his own supporters ‘disgusting.’… He said one of the benefits of this pandemic is that he doesn’t have to shake their hands.”

The former vice president topped his speech by marking the grim news of 200,000 COVID-19 related fatalities in the U.S.

Biden called it “a tragic milestone” and noted that “it means there are empty chairs at dining room tables and kitchen tables that weeks and months ago were filled with a loved one, a mom, a dad, a brother, a sister.”

And he worried that “we’re risking becoming numb to the toll that is taken on us and our country and communities like this. We can’t let that happen. We can’t lose the ability to feel the sorrow and the loss and the anger for so many lives lost. We can’t let the numbers becomes statistics and background noise, just a blur that we see on the nightly news.”

Biden once again cited a Columbia University study that suggested if social distancing mandates were implemented a week earlier in the late winter, 36,000 lives across the country would have been saved. And he charged that “due to Donald Trump lies and incompetence, the past six months have seen one of the greatest losses of American life in history.”

The president and his campaign have repeatedly pushed back on such criticism, citing Trump’s early effort to suspend much of the air travel with China – where the pandemic originated – and his disputed claims of success on testing and supplying personal protective equipment to front-line workers.

The Trump campiagn on Sunday tweeted that "the U.S. set a new record Saturday with more than 1 MILLION tests for coronavirus conducted in ONE day. President Trump's national testing strategy is achieving incredible results."

Biden – citing public health experts – warned that “while we’re waiting for a vaccine, between now and the end of the year, we’re going to lose up to 200,000 additional lives.” And he highlighted that 115,000 lives could be saved going forward by wearing masks.

The former vice president wore a mask during his entire speech, in accordance with an indoor mask mandate implemented by Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers. The state currently grappling with one of the highest COVID positivity rates in the nation.

The Trump campaign mocked the former vice president for apparently wearing his mask inside out.

tl;dr: Biden says to stay upset, not nonchalant. The Trump years were a bust, but the Biden years will bring REAL CHANGE.

This is just sad. I've seen enough old people's brains go to mush to know Biden does not have long. This is getting to the point where he'll be nonverbal and just smile in confusion.

You forgot the beginning of the speech. It sounds like today was supposed to be a "lid" day but...you know, the thing.

He sounds exhausted and ready for bed.

I've noticed that too and agree that either the internal polls they have access to but aren't publishing are looking downright grim and are stepping back a bit from the predicted blast radius, or they're trying to light a fire under him to go out and campaign more because they're out of archived footage of him not flubbing left and right and need "fresh" stuff that mentions all the things that have gone down and made the "healthcare/pandemic" ones look out of date. And they did have to publish one token Biden bash so they could say "we are critical of both sides" .

Alternatively they are prepping for the media to be blamed for Biden's defeat.

People still blame Clinton's loss on the supposed "negative" press she got. (They talked about the scandals that rocked her campaign but every other piece of coverage was them slobbering all over her crotch.)

Anything to deflect blame from the DNC who paraded a sick old man around for 6 months on a doomed campaign.

I mean I wouldn't count out Biden on losing as while he is clearly a dumb old man, I believe there will be some fuckery mixed with hatred for Trump that will carry him to the presidency.

If that video is real and not out of context, and I have every reason to believe that is the case, what exactly will they put Biden on to make him able to debate?

Not an expert, but I've seen some suggest some cocktail of Testosterone ("You're a lying Dog faced Pony Soldier!"), Ritalin, and Piracetam. Which would explain quite a bit.

Clearly the awareness is there that Trump likes to direct the narrative to cover what he is concerned about. But I don't think its quite clued into them yet that he's usually directing the narrative to address things the voters want to hear about, and to hear solutions for. You can't just brush off your party threatening to start a political arms race if they don't get their way with "well I don't want to answer that".

Framing the whole thing as "thats just a Trump talking point" is hilariously short sighted, especially during a period when the voter base is particularly aware and alert for hypocrisy after being told to let everything collapse around them to save grandma, unless your rioting or protesting against trump then the medical experts say thats safe. The average joe only ignores this crap as long as it doesn't really affect them, but now it has, and they're not off ignoring it anymore. They would be, but everything is still shut down.

It kinda makes me feel good that I know that I could do better interviews that Biden. How I would answer the Judge question: "We're currently looking over many qualified judges, these things take time. Unlike Trump I will not be an impulsive leader who makes hasty decisions that will have catastrophic consequences for this nation. As for who I would pick I can say that I am looking for a brilliant legal mind who is akin to the great legal mind of the late Justice Ginsburg."

See he gets his little jab at Trump without saying anything specific, when you're running a political campaign you don't always say specific things about your opponent. Your potential voters already have many instances in their head of Trump fucking up. Finally the newspapers would instantly take the snippet that Biden wants someone like Ginsburg, and no serious opposing political mind will say anything critical of Ginsburg. It's an unspecific answer that can't be knocked.

On the bold, I can't wait until Trump brings up the peace in the debates. How to you deflect from that without coming off as an asshole? Is Joe gonna say: "Well you see Fat, you spent more time doing globohomo peace deals, when the nation is in dire straits. Aren't you supposed to be the All-American president?"
