I ain't paying any child support. One of my children is the product of a straight up, hand round the throat, stitch-ripping postpartum rape. I refused all attempts by the rapist to coerce me into a termination. You can argue that that decision was unfair on him, because he didn’t want to have another child. I didn’t want to be raped and impregnated, so you can argue that was pretty unfair on me. Not having unprotected sex can be pretty hard sometimes. The question is, what do you do about it afterwards.
You didn't even need to offer me a beer for that. But you did, so now I want it.Figures. @Bender I'll give you a beer to beat the hell out of Zoidberg.
He said he was going to announce Friday or Saturday. Coincidently, he will also be in Miami on Saturday.Cross-posting because it's relevant.
If Graham truly does have all fifty of the votes needed to push through a confirmation, that makes me think Trump has already leaked Lagoa in advanced to them and are just waiting to fast track her confirmation process. I seriously doubt Barrett would have the necessary votes given how controversial she is (she barely got through) and that the Democrats have more on her record to attack her for. We can't afford to spend an entire month on Barrett being grilled by the DNC and RINOs and risk a possible rejection, then a major loss for Republicans, and then for the DNC to pack the court. The stakes are too high to nominate anyone but Lagoa now.
Pence casting a vote isn't a crime on the part of the judge, so it's not grounds for impeachment. And there's no other legal way for the legislature or executive to remove a judge. They'd have to sue the Senate, and the Supreme Court would decide whether or not the vote was valid. They will call it a political question and defer to the Senate record, because interfering with their colleague's appointment would seriously damage the Court's reputation. And because it's not their job to count the votes in the Senate, but mainly to maintain their reputation.
I see it pretty much the same way.The rage coming from the left side of the aisle is born of pure impotency.
Nancy and Co know deep down they have zero chance of stopping this aside from throwing such a tantrum that the GoP balks at the fervor being raised. And so we get the media onslaught, every channel as much as humanly possible from every angle and every discourse.
The SCotUS seat is actually more important then the up coming election IMHO. If the GoP can seat a conservative on the bench it will throw such a wrench into the democrats future plans.
If the bench has a solid conservative majority, especially Constitutional Adherents, then a lot of what the Dems have planned can be torpedoed by the GoP pushing cases up to the SCotUS.
If Biden does happen to win then they'll have no choice but to stack the court and that will run a foul of a lot of people both in and out of Washington. But I guess if the MSM can push Biden into a Presidential win when he can't even be bothered to show up to campaign then they can probably sell the stacking of the Supreme Court to give them Democrats free reign to the American public. Then American Democracy really is in massive danger.
A Trump win will earn the right a breathing space..time to group up and plan how to restart the American Dream.
Watching as an outsider is so very hard, I can do nothing but hope that Trump can pull off another miracle win despite the stacked deck against him.
Please vote if your able guys...America is the last bastion of actual freedom left in the world. The only culture left on Earth raised to reject authority instinctively and inherently as every man is born equal to any other.
Or at least it used to be before the progressive left rose to power and taught your kids to hate everything that made America great. America is a country worth fighting to save, if the left wins the culture war and secures the seats of power the whole world will be affected. The US is the last light out there in a sea of self-righteous authoritarian worldviews bent on something I sure as hell dont want to be part of.
...rant over.
Same reason McCain torpedo'd Trump's attempt to replace Obamacare with something after sabotaging it and basically killed any momentum Trump had for the rest of his term on the legislative front.Romney hates Trump and wants to ruin his legacy.
Maybe court justices should learn to retire before they become dinosaurs and spare the Left their freak outs.
Let's be clear about what's happening here: the Dems were all about vote by mail until today. Now are now telling everyone to go vote in person. They planned to send in fake ballots to force this to the Supreme Court, now there will be one more Conservative vote to get past. Their plan is wrecked.
Merrick Garland would be on the court if RGB retired at a reasonable age. It's that simple. Instead we get a shitton of hypocrisy and the Constitution is on trial from a bunch of career politicians turned Communists.

Stephen Breyer (82) is the oldest, a Clinton appointee. So who is next for a grim reaper checkout?
The rage produced by two empty seats before the election woild be fun to watch.
The attacks on Kavanaugh are thought to be the straw that broke the camel's back towards the Republicans cementing their Senate majority in the 2018 mid-terms.View attachment 1613511 View attachment 1613503 View attachment 1613504
It's not really a "correction" if the core focus of your story is completely wrong. You explicitly said that her specific religious group inspired the book, now you're saying that it was just Catholic groups in general. Well fuck it, by that logic all Muslims are terrorists then.
Shotgun approach, they don't HAVE a winning play. I did a lengthy rant somewhere about this... Ah here we go https://kiwifarms.net/threads/trump-derangement-syndrome.25651/post-7393691The attacks on Kavanaugh are thought to be the straw that broke the camel's back towards the Republicans cementing their Senate majority in the 2018 mid-terms.
How the Democrats think attacking a white Christian woman immediately before these elections will work well for them is beyond me.
Especially since then the SCOTUS will be 6-3 conservative (rather 5-4 with compromised Roberts) in any mail-in ballot decision.
Romney just said he will vote. So, does this mean it's done and dusted?
Nah, his pressure back at home is way higher. He's had to do an about face https://apnews.com/ac3554d9962a486f...says-he-would-have-voted-to-confirm-Kavanaugh on Kavanaugh because his constituency -hated- it. McConnel remembers though, and while they didn't field a primary against him last time, they can still do it and the Mormons will remember a stab in the back. Romney is a political opportunist, so out of basic survival instinct he'll likely get behind whatever justice is nominated to avoid that axe. He won't survive doing that a second time.Until activists for the democrats corner senators in elevators in front of media cameras.
