I find the discussions over beards pretty funny, but I support it. Personally, well trimmed and maintained facial hair is attractive. A nice waxed handlebar mustache and a chin puff? Perfection, assuming they have the right face shape to back it up. Shame most guys I see don't take care of their beards properly. Also say what you will about civil war era America, but their variety of facial hair styles was really something. Now it's all neckbeards.
Any theologian here explain to me why God gave me this stupid fur on my face?

I'd say for warmth but us wahman don't (usually) have face fur. Maybe it's like how male birds are super fancy to attract ladies. Or maybe it's a built-in soup strainer. Or likely that testosterone is related to hair growth.

You mean retail or classic? Retail tends to be a lot more PC in its userbase, from my experience. People are more antisocial in any regard, and actiblizz has more... actual GMs working it. Classic even when it released seemed a lot more like the old internet - wild wild west, people just saying whatever shit. Lot more folks talking, lot more engagement, folks generally older overall. Edgy jokes that're definitely dated getting thrown around a lot - definitely a different crowd.

Admittedly, the worst of the fucking pussies are over playing in the FF14 hugbox right now. Funass game but goddamn is that playerbase awful.
Retail, is the weird part.

I just went back to WoW, so maybe it's always been like that, but for the most part all I've seen in chat for MMO games is REEEEEEEEEE!

Evolution is the lie of Satan, witch. Prepare to be burned.
Why God gave you fur on your legs? For easier firestarting of the heretic pyre?

It's been awhile since we've mused about consoomer millennials but this post made me think about it again. They seem to think it's good to consoom nerdy things to make them happy but it's like the whole lotus-eater story. It's a distraction. If your world is falling apart and you have very little money wouldn't you put it towards food, shelter, productive hobbies, learning a trade, or even save it so that sometime you'll have enough money to feel secure? I get that buying a video game, some books, or watching a movie here and there. That's not a big deal. But these people go beyond and buy buy buy and then wonder why they're broke. Anyway, this attitude seems self-defeating.

Essentially every city that has a black population has middle and upper class blacks, lol, not just Memphis - you can find them in literally any metropolitan area in America; this is not the result of 'monolithic' racial populations and demographics, it's the result of mathematical variability; yet again, if I toss one million completely individual factors into one place, it is a guarantee that at least one of those individual factors will differ from the rest.

Blacks are not all locked in the ghetto or poverty in metropolitan areas throughout the country, lol, that's just a majority sample, there are individual blacks doing well for themselves in every part of the country. If that's 'good enough' for you, then basically every city in America is 'good enough' for you.
Oh no. I mean 100 black city that is functional
At least successful. What did the black community have before segregation ended? They had successful businesses, lawyers, doctors and actual leaders.

The other reason is to avoid class hate. I one time seen a billboard of a black family wishing their daughter happy birthday. That isnt cheap. I remember some serious class hate growing within me upon seeing that billboard

A mixed community is going have issues of this type either way. Not only the envy going be class oriented but racism going flare up too.

The point im making is class issues get ignored in a mixed race environment.
White people ( those who are unsuccessful) will see blacks as competition for jobs or Seeth with class envy (which turns into racial hatred) if they come across an actual successful black person.

The reverse is when a black person is successful they move to a white neighborhood. This creates some severe brain drain and leaves only the trash as the black community's leadership.

It doesnt help either way

Maybe slightly OT but related, does anyone notice a pattern here?

Dangerous TikTok trend sees parents THROWING their babies off-camera while dancing to a hit rap song - as viewers blast participants for putting their children in danger for viral fame
  • Social media users dancing and lip-syncing to the song Baby by Blueface
  • The artist raps: 'No baby, we can't have the baby. If you don't take this Plan B, b****, it's plan C'
  • Here, the parents throw their babies off camera, presumably onto a bed
  • Some don't even turn to check that the children landed safely
  • Commenters are slamming the parents, calling the trend dangerous and saying 's*** be funny til it's not funny, you know what I mean?'

One of the cops involved in the Taylor no knock warrant fiasco wrote an email at 2pm this morning to the LMPD. Vox reported got his hands on it

It really just speaks to the arrogance of this guy that they still think they didn't do anything wrong.

The officer that wrote this, Jonathan Mattingly, is the one that got shot in the leg.

He's also the one that told two different stories.

In one version he claims he cleared two rooms before coming under fire, in the other he claims he was shot as soon as they kicked in the door.

People seem to be getting more impatient now. Maybe they're dragging their feet to break the news, but I feel like it's more likely they're double and triple checking they have all their ducks in order and police prepped. (well, as much as they can) Or maybe it's both.

The past couple of times the city released the news in the evening well after hours in the hope people had gotten home

It's what they did in the Mike Brown case.

Understand that there is a MASSIVE fissure in the Millenials in terms of culture, to the point that they're two distinct groups. Those that came of age in the late Clinton and first term of Bush are very social, and don't really buy into the woke shit. Those that came of age in the late Bush early Obama years are your typical consoomer woke types. I think this has something to do with internet accessibility, the early cohort had electronics like NES and Super NES but couldn't just disappear into an echo chamber, they still had to adapt to society around them for social reasons. The latter half could just fuck off onto Social Media for any validation and socializing they wanted and never felt the compulsion to correct their stupid beliefs because they could always find a group of people to affirm that they were just being oppressed and that society was to blame. When you have nobody to reinforce your shit behavior you tend to course correct away from it.

Alyssa Milano should be forced to live the rest of her days in a remote convent

Does anyone have that tweet where... that guy with the George Floyd avatar says something like "yay BLM" over a photo of a burning building, and then the second tweet is the same guy saying "Hey don't break in and riot in my gated community I'm scared!"

Trying to find more pics of rich people saying riots are good and then flipping their shit when they get attacked.

The way that's written it seems like it was 100% intended to get out.

I'm unclear of his intentions with it, but this puts command staff and the city in an extremely awkward position. Not doing anything (what they probably really would like to do) will be seen as an endorsement of the email even though it wouldn't be, which probably leads to more rapid chimping. Alternatively if they DO do something, they know he's probably going to sue them, and could turn the rank and file on them more than they already have which leads to worries when a chimpout likely occurs since even if they punish him, nobody else is likely to get slapped.

It will be interesting to see how that plays out. No matter what happens, the real question is will the rioters take the bait and use it as an excuse to have a good old fashioned chimpout when the decision comes down?

I suppose there is a 3rd scenario which is that this is intended to try and provoke the rioters into a violent response and as a result allow them more leeway to just shut things down with gusto.

Maybe I'm reading too much into the meaning but it throws a wrench in things for sure.

I didn't expect much from the Lancaster incident and I was proven right on that, they rolled a dumpster out and burned it. I don't expect much from this Louisville stuff either, everyone seems clued in now that the mob cannot be appeased and it has to be forcefully beaten into submission, particularly so as we lurch closer to the elections. Watching the Regg stream is very illuminating, the entire city is being boarded up and the city is being proactive by declaring a state of emergency. Likely the State Police are going to show up and the National Guard is likely being told to be prepared to muster. The worst incidents occurred because there was a lack of numbers for the police and will in the civic government. Louisville seems to be very motivated in every regard. The citizens are taking precautions, the civic government is filing the proper paperwork and the police already canceled vacations and worked to maximize local staff. I'll watch but I have my doubts any serious damage to the city will occur as we saw in Kenosha and Minneapolis.

Aside from graffiti, some car damage and some broken windows in Portland, I haven't seen much destruction on streams lately. I haven't seen much actually looting or arson to buildings like there was in the previous months. Police are used to it now. Protesters are getting bored and directionless.

I'm being optimistic thinking there won't be wide-scale damage in Louisville but you never know.

chicago has cancelled all their vacation and time off requests for months now. unless you hear the mayor or prosecutor say they're taking off the gloves, having the police and nG doesn't really mean anything. the NG in the early days of minneapolis riots did fuck all but stand around and protesters walked up to the soldiers to mock them.

Based on all previous info, SnackVan guy has been arrested several times and in several states with a vast array of riot equipment and whatever mishmash of homemade weaponry in the van. IIRC, either the Idaho arrest or the Kenosha arrest was on a federal level. After his subsequent releases, didn't he suspiciously pop up camping in the van in the OR forest and was spotted leaving that area during the fires? Maybe he was just busy with his mutual aid relief. I'm sure that's all it was. :story:

Probably get a few rainbows for this but my wildest idea on the antifas ostracizing him is that they are using this sex pest excuse now to effectively distance themselves from him because they are suspicious that he might be an informant. Whatever charges he had against him in ID didn't keep him in jail. It seems he had a pretty good opportunity to catch a break by ratting out the others wherever the snackvan was. What better way to send all of those fuckers down the river than to have the feds install some type of hidden camera inside the van actually recording the distribution of weapons to rioters? And the ease with which they probably spoke to each other with no thought to filter themselves all while the hidden camera is focused on their faces, recording every word. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all of those fire relief efforts the van was involved in were also recorded?

If the antifas really believed him to be a sexual predator then they themselves have allowed a dangerous man to continue his perversions on the unsuspecting public. Why? Because according to them, no one should ever be in jail for anything ever ever ever.

It's all super weird and there are most likely many, many layers to sift through in order to learn the truth

The National Guard wasn't there to club heads, they were a supporting force. Most of the deployments the NG was doing involved being a security detail for fire crews and ensuring major intersections weren't blocked by debris. As more NG flowed into Minneapolis they were deployed to guard select buildings which allowed the police to begin roaming and making their presence be felt. The National Guard is usually used for handing out supplies after natural disasters so they have a great reputation at the moment, something it took a long time for them to build up after the 60s nonsense, the Guard doesn't want to waste that reputation clubbing heads so it will be very unlikely for them to be deployed in such a manner, this is why there was such a shitshow when Trump used them in D.C, they really didn't want to be used in such a manner.
