I've seen NEETs list Krusty Krab as their job, so it probably means they are unemployed or they would rather not admit what their employment is. It could also be their employment is actually fast food and they think putting down "Krusty Krab" is funnier and quirkier than putting down "Burger King".

Given that its market is more to polisci/international relations spergs and academics, its a nitch market with no mass appeal, and I would assume the rules would shut out the general population in terms of terminology and technical details alone, I could see why it would cost so much.

Not surprising to me. Boeing has a huge facility on the edge of the desert in Mesa, Arizona. So long as the adjacent desert isn't owned by the filthy Maricopa Nation, then it would be a prime spot for them to expand. Their biggest danger there would be the one-off Tonto or jogger breaking into someone's car on their property.
