Digi should probably be in a care facility.

I generally agree that you seek out media about things your interested in instead instead of it putting the interest in your head, but once again we're back to a preexisting interest in violence versus a preexisting interest in fucking kids.Different point of view:
Violent video games prevent violence by being a save outlet. Want to shoot someone? Go play a game instead.
Lolicon prevents actual child abuse by being a save outlet. Want to f a k? Watch some lolicon instead.
The urge to be violent doesnt come from a game, but a game can be an outlet for it.
The urge to abuse a child doesnt come from drawings, but drawing can be an outlet for it.
At least your argument doesnt explain, why japan hasn't high child abuse rates. They invented lolicon and have the most of it.
I enjoy your hopefulness and I agree that Digi only has 3 paths to follow now: climb up again, kill himself or fade in obscurity. Let's see how far he can come now that the spaz parasite has chosen to detach herself.Rate mebut I think the great Digi redemption arc is almost upon us. May was allowing him to degenerate into laziness because she didn't have any standards.
Much has been said about Digi simply no longer liking anime. I hope that if he gets to focus on his work, he will find interesting anime to analyze. That way he might still become a great artist. The Polanski of our generation.
You struck upon something interesting here. The appeal of violence in videogames isn't just down to the simulation of pure violence for it's own sake but the simulation of overcoming conflict and adversity which are very fulfilling to most people.I play video games which contain violence for the challenge of the game, or the competition with other players; I also play shit like chess or other competitive sports like football (the American kind) for the exact same reason.
Depends. There is lolicon that focusses on ages 6 to 10, 10 to 14 and 14+, going from worst to understandable. There are no sexual features to be found in the low age range and I really wonder how people get off to that, but when a young women start to exhibit primary physical features it start it to get understandable. Yeah I've seen it, I might have been on 4chan and imageboards too much. I think it's all related to what you found attractive as a child and not graduating from that due to lack of same-age sexual contact. It's a form of infantilization of the self if you ask me, or hanging on to a something you couldn't get in the past, but I could be wrong. You struck upon something interesting here. What is lolicon simulating again???
Good summary. I will add that at a certain age (depends on the person), people have the bodies of adults, even if they are not quite 18. For adult men to find these people attractive is not perverted, regardless of if it is inappropriate to pursue them. This might sound pedantic, but I think we should be clear about this, because I have seen feminists act as if all men who want to date outside of their age range (like a 40-year-old man flirting with a 20-year-old woman) is a pedophile. This is nonsense. Pedophilia = attraction to the prepubescent.Depends. There is lolicon that focusses on ages 6 to 10, 10 to 14 and 14+, going from worst to understandable. So to answer your question in multiple parts: pre 14? I have no clue what they are simulating. Maybe just being a fucking bastard that needs to be shot? 14+? Regret and wish fulfillment.
I think a lot of it is the personality moreso than physical attraction. You've got an inexperienced girl who doesn't know what sex is or what's going on and she needs to be taught. The same stuff as a virginity kink only amplified. Also due to this, you've often got a lot of play with power dynamics. The man has total control of the situation, he is either charitably explaining and easing the girl into it, or it is full domination rape. Whatever the case may be the situation is always under the guy's control, this I imagine is easy for people who are unsure or not confident to project on.So to answer your question in multiple parts: pre 14? 10/10 society, perfect.Japan's social structure is cut-throat on a conceptual level. These are the five core rules you need to adhere to:
- You MUST adhere to society (be that the accepted 'normal', the government or patriotism)
- You MUST adhere to you superiors (teachers, bosses or people that have even one more year of experience than you do, even if they are retarded)
- You MUST be a responsible child and listen to your parents, even if they are abusive. Just suck it up.
- Don't cause trouble for others. Don't ask for help. Don't involve others. <-- This is the reason they have women-only trains
- People that don't want a family and/or just want to wander through life are scum.
I feel like a lot of your perspective on Japan is coloured by the Media and Documentaries you've consumed, to be honest man. If you spend any amount of time living or traveling in the country you'll come to realize it's really not any different from any other first world society. You have your Tradesmen, your Taxi drivers, your Restaurant servers, Bartenders, street cleaners, Farmers... ect. The vast majority of people who live in the country are normal moderate individuals, especially in the central part of the country (and it has its share of "rural" hicks just like the West, when you move further off to the sides of the country). They have practically all the same flaws and positives that you find here in the West. If I had to personally colour the culture i'd liken them the most to Germans in terms of traditions and orderliness.I didn't want to make a write up on the Japanese state of society but any weeb idolizing this shithole needs a wake up call. I love the language and works that come from there, but that's about it.

Combine that with influence from the western wave of extreme feminism and you have a recipe for disaster. Did you know Japan has an over 40% infidelity rate, with a lot of couples knowing of each-other's infidelity. Even though there is a lot of censoring going on and being a virgin is still being applauded (for girls, but often not the case, most lose it it between 13-16) on the darker side we have a plethora of love hotels, massage parlors with happy endings and rent-a-girl/boyfriend services... hey it's not infidelity if it ain't sex right?

A broken country where nudity is weakly censored, gender roles still being enforced like it's the late 1940's, with a lot of schools still separating girls and boys for activities (blame Britain). Tons of women there have also adopted white-fever and a lot of men feel like they lost the race before even being old enough to sign up. So what do they do? Escapism. The word Hikkikomori translating to shut-in doesn't even begin to describe the problems, there are tons of people who lit. NEVER their room, being "supported" by their parents.
Why the quotation marks around support? I've recently watched a documentary about Hikki's and when the interviewer and the person in question were sitting around the dining table and the interviewer asked "what about your parents? don't you think they want you to have a better future?", the guy said, "nah, my mother gave up on me a long time ago.".
The kicker? His mom was within earshot in the kitchen behind him and didn't even bat an eye. Keeping up appearances most really be her way of life.

Very well put. I think this lense on Japan is immediately disproven via their birth rates. If listening to elders and family tradition were so important and integral their birthrates would be a lot higher.I feel like a lot of your perspective on Japan is coloured by the Media and Documentaries you've consumed, to be honest man. You ever read a news article about video games and notice just how much they get wrong about them, because you know so much more about them than the person writing the article? A lot of the Documentaries and Memes about Japan are like that. Contrary to popular belief, most Japanese are laid back, they're open to different kinds of people and experiences, love getting drunk like the rest of us, relatively normal sexually (homosexuality is actually still not very prevalent there), perfectly fine with working a moderate normal job, not constantly striving to one up each other academically and sacrificing their entire lives for schools and universities, and most of the streets are totally normal and completely boring places. In reality Akihabara is basically just a single block with some somewhat interesting stores, and a bar filled with a bunch of black people who won't let you in without an entry fee. It's certainly not this massive landmark that Anime makes it out to be. Check it out in Google Maps, I guarantee you'll say "that's it?".
I've been noticing this more and more about the world in general, as we continue to become more and more connected through the Internet it seems like all of our cultures are melting into one another, distance be damned. Everyone is pretty much on Facebook and the like now, and most people are just following what the algorithm tells them. At the very least, if you're a good looking guy, you can bet your ass they'll be asking for your Facebook, no different than it is here.
We're all pretty much the same at this point imo. Any exaggerations are cosmetic at best, at least in my experience. Pretty much everything you listed there can be said the same for the West.
