Details: The debate will be 90 minutes long and have no commercial breaks. There will be no opening statements, and instead Wallace will dive right in with the first question to Trump. It will be divided into six 15-minute segments that Wallace has chosen. They are:
1) The Trump and Biden records;
2) The Supreme Court;
3) Covid-19;
4) the economy;
5) race and violence in cities;
6) the integrity of the election.

After the debates a poll will be posted on who you think won this first debate. Have lots of fun, keep the commentary fresh as I'm sure we've all heard many of the same lines for months and enjoy the beginning of the end of this presidential election cycle. Just as a reminder, on October 7th there will be a Vice Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.
You can view Joe Biden's megathread here, and Donald Trump's megathread here

In Joe's defense, it is very difficult to listen to lines in one ear, listen to your opponent in the other ear, and repeat the lines with good timing. Even a fully functioning, mentally agile person would struggle without extensive training and practice. Its hard enough just repeating what they are saying without errors, in your natural voice and cadence.

Hm, might explain what he's been doing all these days out of the public eye

I didn't watch the debates because I work nights, but Biden must've not done too well.

I say that because instead of talking about how great Biden was, all of the leftys on my Normiebook are just jumping up and down and screaming about Trump's proud boys line, beating it to death like a pack of kebabs beating a white woman.

When Hillary and Orange Man debated, they were at least picking out and praising actual things Hillary said.

He did about as well as you'd expect a doddery old man to, as in not very. Wallace was covering for him a lot, which helped, so it wasn't completely one sided, but he didn't really make any statements that supporters would be proud of.

One point of note was that he wouldn't comment on whether he'd add extra supreme court judges to cancel out the current court being against him; FDR threatened to do this back in the 1930s but it didn't happen. That's a huge issue in the election but we don't really have anything to go on.

Which traps of sexism cut her down? Her success was based almost entirely on her exploiting the sexist idea that if she wasn't successful it was because of her being female.
One of the most powerful, influential, beautiful women in politics couldn't beat a bankrupted, shady businessman. Tell me how that's not fair.

It's because Biden didn't say anything. Every time he opened his mouth it was to spit out CNN headlines or refuse to answer specific questions with specific answers. Everything he said was generic, so there's just nothing for any of his supporters to even talk about. If anyone supports Joe Biden then they should be praising Chris Wallace because Wallace carried his ass through every single topic.

The media's desperately trying to paint this as a win for Joe Biden, but if it went so well for Joe Biden... Why are they all demanding that there not be any more debates? If the debates are helping him, why wouldn't they want more of them?

Why doesn't Chris Wallace run for President then?

Shouldn't a moderator be neutral but firm during discussion?
Yeah, it's a shame that nobody hired a moderator last night, isn't it? I like the way that @Secret Asshole phrased it. It's not a referee's job to throw punches.

Mainly because I just don't care. People are going to be fucking bombing and burning down buildings, shooting each other and whatnot election night. It's going to transpire into the week afterwards. Pretty much everyone's safety is at risk, no matter who wins.

The US as we know it is ending and I'm okay with it. We're on the brink of civil war, and I've accepted that I'm probably going to get shot in the street for nothing.
Stop being such a doomer, if any of that shit happens it’s going to be in Metropolitan areas where soyboys are going to LARP for at most 3 months. No need to worry about getting shot unless you live in a city

"Antifa is an idea" is about where Joe made me want to slit his throat just to stop the lies spewing from his geriatric ass.in minecraft
I spent 100 days watching Portland, Seattle, D.C, Kenosha and a bunch of other cities burn. Don't fucking dare try and call them 'an idea' when they're trying to kill kids and setting car lots on fire.

I'm sorry I haven't read this entire thread. Has anyone posted about this yet?

Why did Biden have two various wires falling out of his sleeve and one out of his jacket during the debate?
Even when he was being fed answers the only answer he could give was "I've got a plan. Trust me, bro."

According to PPD Trump apparently did denounce white supremacists but both Chris and Joe were talking so hard over him you couldn't hear it. Just something it might be worth going back and listening to again to see how exactly that was handled.
lol does it matter. The media were gonna run these headlines anyway.

Everything he said was generic, so there's just nothing for any of his supporters to even talk about.

To me, that is the craziest part of his whole campaign. There are zero concise, delineated plans for what he wants to accomplish and how he wants to do it. It's frightening that everyone is just going along with it because, ORANGEMAN BAD and must be voted out.

Refusing to answer the court packing question is insane.

"Whatever position I take on that, that’ll become the issue. "

It should be the issue! It deals with the future of the system of checks and balances in our government. Even a politician's non-answer like, "I'm looking into the ramifications of such a decision" would be better than saying you're not going to talk about it. How can the people in his campaign think that is a good idea?
