Might as well add some context. The model itself is sourced from a volunteer. I have been lurking around different forums to gather interesting information about the game. Some of which, I cannot reveal or else the volunteers will stop communication.

The model itself should have been used in the game, but the original developer of the mesh revoked permission for it to be used. Therefore Alex was forced to revert the character model back to the "original" one (The one from the unity store).

As of now Alex has paid the sum between $ 1-2 K for a new model, hired a professional to make it. The only leak is a picture on his on discord, which I picked up as soon as it was posted. The amount given was confirmed to me from a volunteer. It sounds like he is paying for multiple models as the volunteer mentioned 1-2K per model. Though I have only seen the main character model (blurred picture).

Alex noticed that people were pointing out he hadn't released a new build since Love Letter's demise, so have an extra long blogpost to make up for it.

Bugfix list varies from silly to "Someone else fixed this for me" to "This causes bugs that I can't/won't fix so you just can't do that anymore" and Raibaru got buffed, likely an attempt to cut off the current speedrun tactics.

Oh nonono. A couple of stand out things. First, I love how now that he put in the main objective of the game, he thinks it's time to build and fix features around that. Dude this should have be Priority number one. Osana should have been in your Beta build from the start. And this "Demo" is still a Beta (hell maybe even Alpha) build as from how he talks, the final game wont use any of his code. This is why people were telling him to stop adding bloat to the game. You dont know if it works until you add the main component of the game that utilizes it or really add the actual game.

Second, can anyone name one indie developer in history that coded a game poorly, just so he could give the work to someone else to make his entire game from scratch? Alex is still living in a pipe dream. Hate and Shame 2 is going to be the death of his game.
 
What he's saying here is, that he used time he could "fix" bugs or accomplish other things (like the History of YS video), that would benefit him in any way, he instead decided, that it would be a good idea, to create a music video to a 4 year old parody song, he is going to publish after finishing actual work, because people would get (the right) idea of Alex not working :story:
 
Hold the fuck up, how are the new models performing the existing animations "Flawlessly" when the new character model is unrigged? Last I checked, that's not how this works.
Like I said above the new models are soon going to be in the game. What Alex is refrencing to is probably controls for animators. As a simple rig is way too tedious to work with, you assign controllers to manage general movement. What does this mean?

First of all the professional he hired must have been minimal paid as the person did not create a control panel for the characters (Odd), but did rig them.

Second, normally for animators they are also working with models which have constraints in the program for example blender. When moving the characters around they have these controlers to animate smiles, eye movement, specific hand movements and constraints against collisions. So if I wanted my character to collide against a wall I would not have to precisely match the character just up against the wall. Instead the program manually stops the rig from clipping through the collider saving SO much time.

How're you gonna add DLC rivals when one took 6 years of sitting on your hands and the other main 9 are never coming, alex?
Same way he’s going to add a retro mode of Ayano’s mom. Where almost all of his ideas of pacifist routes have to be chucked unless he retcons his own lore.

Alex spending time on shit like H&S 2 takes time away from shitty, useless additions that bloat the game. However, those shitty additions are ironically what keeps his game alive. Since Alex's cash flow comes from literal children, he has to keep pumping out content or else they'll get bored and move on to something else. THAT will be the death of his game.
